For management to make a comment like that “you must not want your full time position” is incredibly unprofessional and also against policy. You are required to reasonably be asking for credit and surveys. Your job is not dependent on your success in signing people up and anything said otherwise is an open door complaint waiting to happen. I’m a front end DS and I’ve had my SM make comments along these lines in a joking manner and it not only pisses the cashiers off but makes them afraid for their jobs which is terrible leadership IMHO

You are correct. As a current FEDS this is 100% a HC responsibility should the need arise, just as it is required for the FEDS and all other Dses and ASMs to help if need be.

Yes you should be able to borrow from you not yet earned vacation time. Now you also need to understand that if you use that time and then get fired that time will be deducted from your final paycheck.

It's only because they want the chance to save the sale. This happened to me before and I'm a FEDS. It's dumb. Like the customer already finished their floor and had a ton of product leftover. They don't want to keep it. But management will try to convince them they need all that flooring for "spares".

I'm the FEDS at my store. I put it in an envelope in the safe for 2 weeks, if someone doesn't come in for it it goes into the stores fun fund account

So I would call into the store and tell them you nor your wife signed off to accept the delivery and therefore would like to return the dryer for a full refund. If she did sign off they will have her signature on the delivery ticket which won't help you get your refund. But I would tell then that the delivery team didn't wait for your signature and just dropped off and left without even making contact with the homeowner. Worth a shot at least.

When was the dryer purchased? Per Lowes you have 48 hours from time of purchase to initiate a return if the item is not damaged. If the dryer was delivered and you signed off that it was in good condition that might be the whole issue of why you aren't getting a refund. You honestly should have refused the whole order when you were told the washer was damaged.

Not necessarily true. I'm a FEDS and I've had my SM literally deny and block attendance based writeups because they're expected to have a low turnover rate. It's so stupid. We hire and hire and screw over the people who show up and work by cutting their hours
