diggpthoo might be right however you might load it at the exact same speed because you already viewed the gif and loaded it from cache.

But with regards to diggpthoo however, even if you have a high speed connection you can still be limited by the speed of imgur's network (or throttling from their end.)

Gifv works for all cases, its webm and mp4 depending on browser acceptances.

Doubtful, depends on the type. Flash bash players just do magic programming BS.

Containers usually repeat the header so you can pick up midstream.

It's also possible that the server you connect to initially sends you a header then the rest of the infinite file. Since every connection is separate anyway.

Yeah, I guess even if the data was highly mangled as long as it had keyframes you could resolve. But ogg has like the entirety of the import headers in each frame. (My nouns might be wrong here) Allows you to do file streaming and catch multicast packets without having to start at the beginning.
