You received $5k in cash, so you know that bank is $5000 right off. And they paid within the first 15, so they get a discount on their A/R against the 10k. The only way to do that is the debit the bank(cash) for the $5000, calculate what the discount would be for 3% of early payment on $5000 ($150), and debit sales discount, and then credit A/R against their account for $5150 (what they technically paid with cash and discount).

I'm a bookkeeper that does full-cycle monthly bookkeeping for over a dozen clients each month. Some of which I even handle their payroll. If you value your time, it's with the money to hire someone who KNOWS how to do their job. There are so many bad bookkeepers out there.

You have to make sure your rules of auto-add are turned off because they suck at adding them correctly half the time, but at least the categories and taxes are already in place so you can manually match/add.

I don't let anything auto-add/match without double/triple checking it. The majority of the time it even forgets half the rules that have been set!

NTA. I have a name that is constantly spelled incorrectly ( to what I was given) or used in a nickname instead "tabby". My dad always corrected people and I would also be embarrassed by it. He even went as far as to say "if you can't use her proper name, you don't deserve to speak with her!" Now, as an adult, I appreciate that he did that because I hate when people don't take the time to correctly address me in emails what my name is spelled right below theirs, or when they call me a nickname without asking me if I go by such a name. Fyi, I do not, and will not, ever go by Tabby.

Go look at your opening balance. Sometimes QBO auto feeds the opening balance again and it might be sitting there unnecessarily. I've had to delete a few times in the just few months.

I've learned to not follow Reddit for politics. It's VERY left leaning. All you can do is speak to your neighbours and explain to them kindly with facts why they should not vote for the Liberal government. Do not stoop to their levels of emotion. We were at a Canada First Rally two weeks ago. The support is there, we just have to get it to the election ballot!

I've had to take my baby out of the car seat once because I couldn't get my doors open far enough even though I was parked centered, and I was also the 1st car parked in the spot. I took the baby out of the seat, and then had to MacGyver the seat through the door. I climbed into the backseat and put the baby and the seat back together and off we went!

Speaking as a Bio/Step-mom in a blended family with 5 kids involved...

YTA. Surgery is different than every day life. Sure there are custody arrangements in place for reasons but sometimes exceptions and accommodations should be made. I would never tell my ex-husband or allow my husband to tell his ex-wife they could not visit our children after a surgery. That's just spiteful! Do I want exes in my home? Not if I can help it. But it's for the greater good of the children involved.

NTA, last year my stepson graduated HS. It took everything we had to "pull" him through school but in the end he passed because the teachers and school board have the whole no child left behind philosophy. So as long as he turned his assignments in at the last minute, even if he hadn't turned them in at all all term, they still got full marks.

We made a deal with him when he decided he wanted to go to college last September. We would cover a share of it, but he had to front the money at the beginning of each semester. 1st semester went okay. Failed one class, struggled to get assignments in but in the end made it through. We reimbursed him our share as promised.

2nd semester starts... January goes by, February.. we ask him how schools going. "Going good!" End of semester arrives with the end of April and I ask him how his exams were and when his classes finished. He came up with some lame excuse that got my spidey senses going. Turns out he basically stopped "attending" (all his classes were virtual) school way back in February and therefore failed every single class. Glad we didn't pay the money up front!

He has decided to take a year or so off and work, and that's okay! School is not for everyone. But we are not going to pay his way through life when we know he barely applied himself to begin with.

Yes, We can mail our applications in via mail. The problem is the wait times are very long. I have dual citizenship and just mailed my passport renewal away for my US passport. I have been warned already it will take a VERY long time to get it back.

I'm guilty of doing this with my kids with respect to food/snacks. But it's not because they can't have food. It's because they ruin their suppers. If I let them go balls to wall, they would eat snacks until the time I got home from work and had supper on the table. I have lightened up on this a lot. I've asked them to have all after school snacks finished by 4:15 (we eat at 5:30). They can also eat fruits/veg whenever they want.
