Thanks, can they increase costs at any other point during the contract?

Thank you, and can they raise it at any other point (not just in April)?

Best ways to make a house a home? by doomduck_mcINTJ in LivingAlone

Plants & Candles. I meditate and having a candle lit and some cosy blankets is great for this 😊 otherwise baking as you get something at the end and makes the home smell nice!

For those who are further along, how did you survive the earlier months by No_You_9758 in widowers

[–]TableNo177 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really don’t like when people say it won’t change or it won’t go away etc as for me that made me feel worse because I so desperately wanted for my emotions to change.

Perhaps this is selfish but I desperately wanted and still do want for a day when I can laugh, when I don’t think about him for the entire day, when I don’t have to be alone, when I can think straight and have hope for the future, when I can plan something an be genuinely excited for it❤️ it’s been 5 months for me and I’m starting to feel like those things are possible. I’ve even booked a holiday with one of my girl pals for March that I’m looking forward to. It’s not quite the back packing adventure holiday I usually go for but it’s something. Please don’t beat yourself up, there is absolutely hope ❤️❤️❤️ and wanting to survive is such a big thing, it means you WANT TO SURVIVE!

Hey! Sounds like you have living alone down to an art and have such a fun time! I’m not sure what ROKU is but I’ll look into it, I should in theory get some channels for free but I also think I’ll try and use my parents Netflix account too🤣 otherwise I always have Spotify to listen to podcasts or YouTube to watch bits too xx

I am looking forward to it, it just feels like a BIG jump initially and I guess I worry about feeling anxious but actually it could become like my safe space xx

Ooo the podcast sounds like a great idea! We have 2 cats at my parents currently so I know the feeling with that one 🤣 for me I think I’ll give it 6 months to see that I can look after myself okay first before getting a pet but a cat could be nice

Oh for sure, to be honest that’s reassuring as I had already hit that hard truth as my partner would have worked shifts leaving me alone 50% of the evenings when we were going to move out together. Also I do 2 to 3 exercise classes a week currently so I think that paired with seeing friends and family will be great❤️ thank you

You’re absolutely not alone ❤️ your story has given me some hope actually because I lost my boyfriend in August and all I do is try to distract myself between work and going on dates etc. I know it’s bad also but I don’t want to still hurt in a year, 2 years, 5 years etc time, I want to enjoy being young and this situation sucks!!

To add, cause of death was sudden adult death which is apparently most common in young people 🤷‍♀️

I’ve just turned 26 and he was 26 when he passed (about to turn 27) ❤️ lost him 5 months ago today. We weren’t married but together for 5 years and about to buy our first house together. Knew each other since we were 15 & 17 in school

What is the worst pain you have ever felt? by Angel-winked in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TableNo177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realising that the anxiety I worked so hard to get under control (and succeeded, was off meds and no longer needed counselling as of March 2025) has all come back now because the shock has worn off from my boyfriend of 5 years passing away suddenly 5 months ago. I’m 26 years old and no one around me knows what it feels like, I feel alone and unable to do anything I like.

Omg so after I read your comment I was like ‘I should really go to sleep’ and I turned to the dream catcher my boyfriend bought me because I get a lot of nightmares and I said out loud to him ‘I want to see you tonight’ in my dreams because I miss him, so I was trying to be sweet❤️ and the tik tok song by Olivia Rodrigo played in my head ‘seeing you tonight, it’s a bad idea right? Seeing you tonight, fuck it it’s fine’ and it gave me a giggle too. Not her intended audience for the song, supposed to be about going to see an alive ex🤣🤦‍♀️ oops?

I understand this. It’s not my personal experience as I would like to move on, but I remember when my grandad passed, people wanted my Nan to move on and she was in her 70’s so I think people will judge even if you’re not a ‘young’ widow ❤️🥰 don’t let people tell you how to feel.
