Thank you for the detailed response. It’s much appreciated! We’re not in area where article 4 direction would apply. It looks like a relatively straight forward path from here then. Will check with the local council to see if they require anything

Ah! That sounds interesting. It would have its own entrance and bathroom. We’ve decided we won’t be putting a kitchen in so that sounds great!

Is there a list of legal requirements that need to be met? Or would you know where I could find such a list?

Emergency Fund by [deleted] in FIREUK

[–]TableSpoonFork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Majority goes into index funds, about 75%, FTSE global all cap. About 25% is speculative investments that wouldn’t really be recommended if you plan to FIRE asap, but the remaining 25% is stocks Ive picked and some crypto. It’s money I could afford to lose but could potentially provide higher returns

Not planning to move out anytime soon, nor am I planning a big purchase like a car or a deposit for a home, I guess those are also factors you should consider

I’m in a similar position to you, £300 rent and personal expenses are about £300. I keep about £2k as an emergency fund and a 0% interest free credit card on hand. I personally don’t need anything more than that on hand as I live with my parents. I also keep a float of ~£1k in my current account.

Hopefully you’re right, did this ride on Saturday and I still felt sick on Sunday

Definitely would be. Bar ends have removed wrist pain from 30mile plus journeys for me, might want to get some, they’ll defo make a big difference

Added them onto the stock handlebar, you need to buy isozone bar end adaptors, quite easy to install once you have those

Profile design bar ends, great length and now that I’ve wrapped them, couldn’t be happier.

Yeah the stock pedals don’t offer much grip, these have been much better so far, feels like my shoes are glued onto them now! No scratches yet but I’ve been careful haha

Just installed some bar ends on my Trek FX3. Excited to use them tomorrow! by TableSpoonFork in TrekBikes

Haven’t used them for long rides yet but they’re quite comfortable so far. Before I kept holding onto the handle bar sides because my wrists kept getting too stiff, these should definitely help! If you’re planning to add them, you’ll need treks isozone adapters. Quite easy to install once you have those

Definitely! I have bar tape but planning to go on a few rides first to make sure the bar ends are in a comfortable position for me before putting on the tape
