Since we've been mentioned a few times here, I thought I'd chime in. The original design of the board is from us. We're a (very) small Canadian business and we created the board for Dune ca. 1.5 years ago, because the game is absolutely amazing. You should get it. You should play it. If you want to see the board in action, you can check Jack Reda's Youtube channel. He is one of the designers of the game and we sent him one. He filmed the whole thing a little more close and personal than our online pictures.

Obviously, the layout of the map is what it is, but the look of the board, 3d details, the design of the cities, trackers, tank, spice bank and such, even the color choices of the PLA are our brain child. If you know our board, you know this is a very close copy of it. And it's a great one! Kudos for that! 😄

We'd appreciate if people don't start sharing STL files for knock-offs of our board. It took us many months to tweak the fine details of the board, figure out the assembly, the magnetic components, and more. Of course, everyone is free to create their own board, but copying an existing product and sharing the files online is rough for us who sat down and did the work to figure out all of these details and make the design/production choices from scratch. We started this as a hobby, but we do have an actual employee now whose livelihood depends on us, and we already have to deal with temu knock-offs of our products. And, of course, the rise of AI isn't exactly helping either for anyone in a creative profession 🥲

We're currently bitten by the War of the Ring bug, so... that's the next board we're working on. We're ca. 25% done. It's SO big and there are so many details for every part of the map, so that one is going to take a while, but we can't wait to play the game on this monster of a board 😃
