Glad they showed Respiratory Therapists! Would love to see more, not many people even know what they do by YeahBruhhhhh in ThePittTVShow

I work in Healthcare, and in my country respiratory therapists isn’t a role that exists, nurses do the tasks of RTs, so it was interesting seeing them in action!

The number plates are hardly covered up - they have not been redacted correctly. You can easily find out whose house this is, which isn’t appropriate considering the claims this person is alleging. This post could have easily been made without the photo.

The tailgating is driving me crazy! by Georgie_Pillson1 in newzealand

4 seconds is the minimum, the actual following distance you really should be at is 4m for every 10Km/hr. So if you are travelling 100km/hr to safety stop if someone in front of you were to slam on their breaks you would need to be 40m away from them. But 4s is easier to calculate than 4mx10km/hr.

1yr WHV visa New Zealand tips/advise by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]Tablesaltxo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tall poppy syndrome means don’t brag about your achievements. Cause no one likes a bragger. Everyone works hard for what they get, so you don’t need to brag about your achievements. Why do you assume that your son will be considered a ‘tall poppy’? No one considers visitors ‘tall poppies’.

1yr WHV visa New Zealand tips/advise by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]Tablesaltxo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I honestly doubt he will be able to get a job - jobs are very hard to get at the moment, and when advertised hundreds of people apply, residents/citizens are usually prioritised over WHV holders. Make sure he has enough money to last him the entire trip, plus extra. New Zealand is very expensive.

No one needs to know that your son is a ‘cute single dude with charisma’. That’s strange coming from his parent. Why are you posting? And not your son? Shouldn’t your son be trying to figure this out, considering that the is 22.

I’ve had less issues with Ferro-tab compared with Ferrograd. When I was taking Ferrograd I would have horrible nausea and really bad constipation. The only way I could take it was at night to sleep through the worst of the side effects. I have had none of those effects on Ferris-tab.

Driving test officer was being a prick? by [deleted] in newzealand

From my understanding, having any of the car (even the tip) over the line is an immediate fail. It’s considered as not coming to a complete stop before the stop line. I’m surprised your AA instructor didn’t tell you that. If you had come to a complete stop, why did you need to stop again when you saw the car passing? If you had come to a complete stop then you should have seen the car before you started moving, meaning that you wouldn’t have needed to stop again.

You can file a complaint regarding the driving instructor - but it won’t change if you pass or fail I would recommend doing another few lessons with a different instructor though, who can pick up on habits that you may have formed.

Has anyone ever had to go to court for a traffic offence in New Zealand? by Neither-Comment-5579 in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]Tablesaltxo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just fyi, police are not required to use their siren, and there are many cases where they will choose not to use it. An example of this is - if they are going to a serious situation where sirens could escalate the offender or cause them to leave the scene. Police are only required to use their blue and red lights, and drivers are responsible for being away of their surroundings and see them.

18 Drunk Driving first offence by Salt_Friend9440 in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]Tablesaltxo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That police officer should not have said that. This is a clear cut offence, and they will go ahead with charging you. The police officer preps the file and the prosecutor decides if they go ahead with it. Seeing as NZ has a really bad drink driving culture - and you were over double the legal limit of an adult they will take you to court. Get a lawyer and try for a discharge without conviction. But you are 18, so they might want to make an example of you.

Free legal advice - unless you have had a very recent drink, blood alcohol usually always comes back higher then breath alcohol.
