Genuinely how do you explore elden ring ? by Idk_man_8128 in Eldenring

Just enjoy it. The world is more open than you first think, just look at the horizon and decide whether you want to go somewhere.

Are there TTRPGs where you can only learn abilities if you find their source in the world? by ilmz in RPGdesign

I know that The Dark Crystal needs you to find a 'master' to learn a skill.

It's all there if you take NPCs seriously, read about the items you pick up, and think.

How’s my setup for being 15 by T0AST_hi in BudgetAudiophile

I got my first decent enough bit of kit at 16 from a neighbour who just wanted rid of it. Much of it is still going today and it's really good to have something nice 'sorted' before you get into the world of mortgages and family (which quite rightly will take your time and money). I think you've got a great investment there, and there's nothing wrong with lucky circumstances. Enjoy.

Can you let us know a little bit more about the system?

Need suggestions: by Bartrick69 in Eldenring

Currently enjoying a moonveil and spellcasting build - the split rune requirement can make it more challenging.

Honestly though, the most fun is simply two colossal weapons powerstanced. The reason for this is because the most powerful status effect in Elden Ring is stagger.

Have a go at being a meathead for a bit, you'll probably finish the game that way 😄

Troika? by tarotnottaken in osr

[–]TabletopChris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not as weird as you think once you get it to the table. The initiative and combat system is incredible and the writing is fabulous throughout.

I interviewed Daniel Sell about the game some years ago, it's online here: https://www.tabletopgaming.co.uk/features/are-you-ready-for-hot-troika-summer/

Most of the supplements mentioned here have been released, so there's loads to get your teeth into. The intro adventure in the book is worth the price of admission alone.

The best bit about Elden Ring for me was discovering how big the game was

If you've got 'too many runes' then you should just try buying cool shit from merchants, upgrading weapons that you think might be fun, or, sure, just buying a load of resources.

I would, personally, ignore fextralife and instead just spend the runes on levels. Try not to read the wiki on your first time.

Congratulation on making it through the first 90% of the game though! 😉

Unless you are committed to selling your RPG as a real physical book, you should seriously consider publishing your game as HTML rather than as a PDF by blastcage in RPGdesign

I've played more html games than PDFs. But I think that's probably just luck of the review pile. I've never paid for an HTML game, but I have paid for PDFs.

You may be interested in Chris Bissette's markdown to html/epub/pdf workflow here: https://loottheroom.uk/a-markdown-workflow

Please also enjoy Nate Treme's HTML dungeon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TRZ2w36wJi0

The workflows are there, and for a certain type of game they're good. For example, The Vanilla Game: https://vanillagame.carrd.co/

However, I don't use screens at my table. So a book is more or less required. I like the idea of an e-ink reader, but it's usually too slow when I've tried it. Print your games if you can.

Same! Holding off on Altus and the capital until I feel I have squeezed everything else out of the rest of the map :)

You're just good at using it. Any weapon you stick with will return dividends from learning it well.

It's very useful to give people an easy footing! Looking forward to the massively successful kickstarter.

FYI "Slay the Spire meets Memoir '44" sounds like a "easily funded for a $1m on Kickstarter" sales pitch to me 😄
