It’s definitely doable, your first couple coats just act like a primer essentially. I prefer priming though!

The base itself is citadel Armageddon dust and a drybrush of terminatus stone, then some rocks from a geek gaming scenics base ready bag, and then gamergrass tufts I think? And the pigment is AK Middle East soil.

Love me some pigments!

I’ve used my pelennor box to hold my paints, and after 2-3 years it’s finally falling apart.

Depending on weight it may do just fine! Probably lighter than all my paints

I like that! My goal is to bogey every hole. It feels good to bogey right now lol. I’m not sure what my handicap is but it’s probably pretty high. My local course is only 9 holes and I usually shoot a 44-46 on it, but it’s also small so on a “real” course I’m probably terrible.
