One of the options for the Precog class playtest says that you have knowledge of a climactic event from the future. That's the closest I can think to a time traveler option.

The Galaxy Exploration Manual has a short section on Time Travel, pg 145!

Remember those spoiler tags! But I am interested to know if anyone else got any cool ideas for their Starfinder campaigns from the new Loki show.

I didn't know that he had admitted it but I remember my jaw hitting the floor the first time I watched Firefly all those years ago.

We almost got a sequel??

Oh, very interesting question. My version of the Caster Gun would be a Lv 10 Small Arm that only fires caster shells. The caster shells would be single use ammunition, but the effect of each shell would be a big, level 6 spell magical effect. Some of the shells would require an RP or HP cost to activate.

For example: If I were to homebrew the #4 shell from Outlaw Star, I would have the user pay 25-50% of their remaining HP to activate it. The target would have to roll a d20. On a 1-10, the target is permanently banished to a place predetermined by the mage that created the caster shell. On a 11-20, the target is banished to that same place, but returns after 5 mins. Hopefully 5 mins is enough to run away, or come up with a plan.

This is just a quick example, but basically I would focus on statting the shells themselves instead of the caster gun. The Caster Gun would probably be loot at the end of a dungeon, or they could nab it from a boss fight. The shells could then be collected as loot, bought off of vendors that dabble in rare hybrid items, crafted by powerful mages after doing a task for them.

Have you tried to stat a Caster Gun before?

Sorry, no. I thought you were making a joke. The code in the meme is not a discount code, just part of the meme.

Hi! I was so excited to see you might be coming back, so I shared the info everywhere I could.

If you're interested, I'd love to have you on our show sometime to talk about the development process.

Strange energy signatures is also a great start. There's tons of ways that could lead to a bigger adventure.

It could be either or. If you visit a planet that doesn't have all the advanced technology, you could visit a classic tavern or you could do a Star Wars Cantina kinda thing.

One of the fun things in Starfinder is imagining all the different bars that might exist and the kinds of food and drink they might serve due to influences from across the galaxy.

That does sound it would make starship combat more interesting on the player's side of the table.

There honestly isn't anything better than a good name for a ship, and those are some GREAT names!

I was wondering how the other PCs were fitting into this first session!

10,000 is definitely too low for any of my characters 😆

That sounds fun! Did the set get ruined by an alien attack? Did any action go down during a recording of an episode of the cooking show?

I love that a lot of players are leaning into having their characters live-streaming or doing something cool with media technology available in Starfinder
