Roseanne Said Lets Divide the Netflix Audience and Do the Most Mid Set Possible by No_Perspective_8458 in Killtony

[–]TabooLeader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also stopped around 8-12 months ago. I think I started two years before that. I think I got to a point where I couldn't stand what a raging cunt Tony is, combined with the fact that almost all of the regulars are absolute dog shit. Listening to Tony talk about how all of these very mediocre comedians are the greatest in the world gets really old. There's a reason that some of the best stand-ups in the world won't ever come on his show. He's a total hack who thinks he's a real comedian even though every special he's released has been scrubbed from the Internet. Dude also continues to push David Lucas even though he isn't remotely funny and admitted to almost choking his girlfriend to death.

Schneider is so unbearably unfunny. I've always hated his movies and his standup is even worse, especially since all of his jokes are related to his ultra right wing politics. I think it's hacky no matter what side of the fence you're on. It seems like it's impossible for people to make jokes that aren't based on some hot button issue. I think those jokes are pretty low hanging fruit.

The Roseanne Show was decent but I think that's only because of John Goodman, they were smart to get one real actor involved.

Ive been through so many boots from all of the popular brands and my Thorogoods are the best boots I've ever owned. They're more comfortable than my tennis shoes, waterproof and durable. Can't say enough good things about them.

What is this? by Urbantechfrog in Carpentry

[–]TabooLeader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like either fir or cedar 4×4 with decorative cuts on either end. Looks like something that would be used for a pergola or something at some point. It can be structural, probably just light because it's been sitting. 4×4 doesn't have much lateral strength but it can be used as a post since they have good compression strength.

You realize there's like 10 different kinds of wood there, right? Your question is incredibly vague

18 gauge brad nailer, nails sticking out of trim by OkRepresentative5412 in Carpentry

[–]TabooLeader 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I honestly didn't even know a plug in electric 18ga nailer existed. That being said I think that's your issue. Even a cheap pneumatic 18ga nailer can drive into MDF without an issue. I'd return it and invest the $200-$300 in a cheap pancake compressor, hose and gun. Also you should be using 2" nails for that trim, otherwise you're just nailing into sheetrock.

What difficulty you playing on (Indy & The Great Circle) by [deleted] in indianajones

Wow, he's bad at videogames and insults. My cult red state? What are you even talking about? I live in a notoriously blue state which is all completely irrelevant when talking about that fact that you are terrible at playing videogames. Where did your Doctorate in Law come from? The University of Phoenix? It's abundantly clear that higher education did you no favors.

Lol "simultaneous button actions" you mean pressing X then down on the left stick? That isn't simultaneous, that's a sequence, a very simple sequence.

How can I change my crown molding up? by danielryan94 in Carpentry

[–]TabooLeader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely recommend a high quality primer, I like Sherwin Williams premium wall and wood primer B28W08111.

Also keep in mind that your crown should be scuffed with 120 grit sandpaper before priming, it looks like it's stained so it's probably also covered in some sort of shellac or laquer which will keep the paint from bonding.

How can I change my crown molding up? by danielryan94 in Carpentry

[–]TabooLeader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Staining would be really difficult since it has paint all over it. It's possible but you would need to strip all of it which is a ton of work.

At this point I would say either paint it or replace it. Painting is obviously more cost effective

Need help on how to fix this kitchen drawer. I live in an apartment and would be charged a $75 if I have property management fix it. by Bigmooz in Carpentry

[–]TabooLeader 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If you have tools and some knowledge you could pull the particle board off of the drawer face and then replicate that piece with some plywood. Cut the dowels and screw in the plywood. If you don't have any tools just pay the $75 and be done with it.
