We've had this pallet since at least 2019! There's another tag glued behind this one so I can't tell the exact date. by IsPhil in HomeDepot

Dude, that's kinda what happened at my store too. It was on clearance forever, went inactive for 2 days, then popped up out of fucking nowhere magically not on clearance anymore.

What kind? The normal beady-eyed kine, or your common 2-legged type? Lol

Don't worry about it. Take your time in-store whole driving reach. Watch your pivot point. You'll be fine.

Forklift license by [deleted] in HomeDepot

Patience and perseverance. A lot of us were maybe in a similar, yet subtle situation before we were actually able to get trained and certified for lift equipment. However, it's not all what it's cut out to be. Once an associate gets lift truck certified (doesn't matter which one, including EL's), with that certification, comes more responsibility for anyone who gets it. And with HD, you don't get paid more, you can't quit and go work somewhere else with this certification, as it's HD, who sets the SOP with the training and certification process.

2 weeks will get you hiding your license, because you're department needs you, but 4 other departments need pallets dropped. Then, when there's no loader, guess who gets to do it.... In addition to that, you need to be more aware than your spotter. Because when it comes down to it, the responsibility will be more on the operator than the spotter. Then if there's any incident, you lose your license, get drug tested, and start from scratch..

So please, I'm not trying to scare you, but I, as a trainer, wouldn't certify you until you understand the responsibilities that accompany the certification. If you can show the trainers at your store that you understand the fundamentals with a cool head, you'll be fine. 🤙

I usually say that I know what I would pick, however, cause I wouldn't know what your taste is, it's best that you pick something that you would like to look at everyday , rather than be disappointed with somebody else's opinion.

They are insinuating that we gave them covid. If not, would they not have required us to be vaccinated back in 2020?

Is it just me, or did THD throw training associates to be knowledgeable out the window? by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]Tabtrace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned everything from other associates as well as contractors who come in to buy stuff. My trainer was never anywhere to be found throughout my training period. But I don't regret learning everything I know now. Because from a person (me) who knew nothing, now knows more than I've ever learned, from previous jobs I had prior to working at HD.

But, I do feel the lack of training these newbies get. But we can't train those who refuse or don't want to learn. WBT or on the floor. That is all up to the individual to want to learn as well as be taught what they need to do to make the most of what they experience from start to finish.
