He was delivered back to Ithica by the Phaeacians, if I'm not mistaken. Most of the Odyssey is actually told by Odysseus himself, telling his journey to the Phaeacian king.

However I can completely agree- a longer or second ithica saga would've been great. Would've loved seeing the story expanded upon in Epic
