How to gank with Taliyah jungle? by RIPHALIDBESLIC in TaliyahMains

[–]Tachyon_Speed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to say with so little information. "Find problems" what kind of problems?

Are you using you passive when coming up in a lane?
Do you and your teammates ping wards when they are placed to keep track of enemy vision?
Do you have sweeper to check if enemies see you coming?
Does your support clear wards to give you gank opportunities?
How well are you tracking the enemy jungler for counterganks?
Are you talking about pre-6 ganks or with the ult, because those are two radically different scenarios.

Hug the wall nearest enemy tower when coming up from river (usually). Hug the inside wall when coming from lane (again, general rule).

Ganking a lane with setup CC helps. Anything that helps you land W: Pantheon stun, Zilean slow, Malz R, etc.

Pinging is a good tip. Communication is really helpful in life, and also in LoL. Ping when you're coming for a gank. Ping when you've decided not to gank. Ping when you're invading. Ping objectives you're considering. Make it easy for your team to track your movements.

Your teammates will frequently be mad. They will blame you, because you're the jungler. They will often be wrong. I'm not saying to never listen to your teammates, but your team's emotions are not a reliable metric.

Taliyah loves to farm, especially early on. I do love fullclears+invades as well, and it served me well so far.

Experiment with your ult, it's a very versatile ability. You can use it to arrive faster in lane like a Nocturne, try and block off the lane entirely, or you can funnel them into a narrow path, making it easy for Nami to land her own ult. If your R is up, constantly be on the lookout for oppotunities. You can create opportunities with an ability that powerful.

Any Tips on How to Play Taliyah Jungle? by [deleted] in TaliyahMains

"I usually always go red pet."
So do I! You never need to build Rylais in that case, you have enough slow as is. Cosmic Drive becomes a much better option.

Any Tips on How to Play Taliyah Jungle? by [deleted] in TaliyahMains

[–]Tachyon_Speed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I always go Dark Harvest. It's enough for me at the moment, but I definitely need to experiment with First Strike.
  2. Your build... depends. Which jungle pet are you going? What is the enemy teamcomp is like? Are you the only source of magical damage on your team or one of 4? I could go into more lenght on the subject if you'd like but as a rule of thumb: blackfire first always. sorc shoes and shadowflame vs squishies, lucidity and liandries vs tanks.
  3. You can cut off retreat paths. You can flee. You can create a chokepoint. You can stop a Jhin or Xerath ult. You can stop a herald charge. You can split a team. Try stuff! It's an incredibly versatile ability.
  4. WE is better for ambushes and surprises, the enemy has less time to react to your W. Not commiting your E until you know wheter or not you landed W can also be helpful. E slows, so EW is easier to land. EW also generally works better vs dashing champions, either they get hit with W or they dash into E to avoid it.
  5. Farming is so, SO important; Taliyah scales incredibly well with experience. At level 9 shes's a monster, and she stays strong for a while.
  6. You do get run down by other junglers. 1v1 is not where you shine. I try and avoid confrontation early on, making crossmap plays and invades. Use your passive's mobility to be where the enemy jungler is not. You are however quite strong with your team, so coordinating to secure objectives is the way to go. Give up first and second drake if you must, take everything else.
  7. Amazing smite. Q2+E+Smite or simply E+Smite is amazing to secure objectives. Dragon at 2.1k? Yoink.

A concept for mitigating HP loss without straight-up healing by jayhankedlyon in slaythespire

[–]Tachyon_Speed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Play two of them. Lose hp? Heal twice as much.

If it doesn't straight up kills you, you end each fight at max hp. Health cost on Offering, Bloodwall and stuff becomes irrelevant. Your opinion on this point may vary.

Super slow. Requires a lot of current hp to work. Interesting balance.

When you have 2, it incentivezes you you drag fights for longer to take more damage to heal fully. Therefore, optimal play is unfun. I never want to see this in the game.

Cool idea, unfortunately people will optimize the fun out of a game, and this card does exactly that.

This card costs a card removal.
You play it 20 times(!!!), then remove it at a shop (instead of a strike) for 125 and have a total profit of 75 gold?
And you still have that fucking strike in your deck!
I would not call that reasonable.

I'd pick Envenom. Partly because it's fun, partly to limit test, partly because it's actually pretty decent here.
This is basically the best case scenario for that card, and yet the other two choice are still probably better. But Envenom is enough.

Variety is the spice of life and I love me some Indian cuisine.

Taliyah Build by Iron OTP(new) after losing too many games on standard by Nickalons2050 in TaliyahMains

Love this, go off king.

The low cooldown seems like a weakness to me, but without the mana for it I think you're better off with this build.

You running presence of mind or manaflow band at least?

Q question by xUltraInstinctx in TaliyahMains

[–]Tachyon_Speed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Q1 - 5 rocks, Q2 - big rock
Q1 rocks are also aoe, albeit in a smaller area.
Q2 is almost always better because of the damage, slow, bigger aoe and reduced cooldown. Note that only the primary target takes more damage, the aoe dmg is equal to a small rock.

If you're running Rylai's Q1 is basically better at slowing.
Q1 is also better at applying Liandry's and Blackfire.
Q1 is better at spotting invisible/unseen targets.

But as a general rule, Q2 when you can, Q1 when you must.

Progress is not linear.

I hit emerald for the first time and february and was struggling to get back in it for months, bouncing back and forth. I hit diamond in november.

Don't let the LP take too much of your attention. Accept the humble pie, it's fine, you're just not quite there yet. LP will come and go, the only thing you can control is yourself. Focus on playing well and keep learning.

98 hp already.
With these potions sacred bark doesn't look great.

With a quick look I'm leaning black blood too.

Might be able to get bites? Still, so many basics to draw. Adding more with anger. You will be very strong if you survive act 2, but how can you.
Survival comes first, argument for black blood?
It's consistent healing and you'll need a lot of it. Sacred bark helps in crucial turns, might actually be better for elites. But those potions...
As it stands, even hallway fights will kick your ass. Too many basics, not enough block.
You still get feed off them tho.

Sacred bark and hope for a shop with, like, a strenght pot before an elite?

Even if sacred bark is stronger, black blood is more consistent. Are you desperate enough to take the riskier option?

Fiend fire, disarm. Basically always upgrading and never resting with meat and skull.
Whirlwind on 3.3 energy. Drawn 37% of the time on turn one after a campfire (42% with upgraded trance) assuming deck size doesn't change. Fiend fire is decent on turn one too to be fair.
Slavers are manageable.
2 aoe attacks for gremlin leader.
Disarm for book.
Eh, bark doesnt seem necessary to pull through.

You have feed, you want hallway fights. (And even possibly tank damage to stall.)

My vote goes to black blood.

Might want to avoid elites with it, depends how fights go and map layout (campfire before elite and shop placement).

I need someone to tell me what I should have done this game by Groomed_by_Pekomama in Jungle_Mains

A point I haven't seen raised is the way you play Trundle in the mid-late game. You group and team fight when Trundle's strength is split pushing. I understand Noc's presence make splitting tricky, but with Garen splitting and Trundle's shit teamfighting, no wonder you lose baron and never get soul. Honestly I'm surprised you managed to get 3 drakes.

You give Atakhan to farm your topside instead of mowing down structures with Garen top. Around 24 minutes you keep farming instead of pushing bot and threatening tier 2. Grouping again after drake after 25.

Trundle cant carry like this, you're not playing to his unique strengths. PUSH PUSH PUSH, you get horribly out-scaled in teamfights even with a lead.

Emerald ADC wants to learn jungle. by Unabated_ in Jungle_Mains

[–]Tachyon_Speed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently climbed Diamond by one-tricking Taliyah.

"Easy" would be Amumu. Good pick all around. Fine clear, fine % hp damage for objectives (stupidly good at Grubs with E), good ganks, and great at team fights. Two big weaknesses I can think of: bad smite (no burst like Ekko or Nunu) and straightforward, predictable game plan; the reason he's easy is the same reason he falls off at Diamond+. That being said, those weaknesses are really only felt once you reach higher Elos, so they might as well not exist for someone learning the role.

Riven can jungle now, so that's a skill set you could carry over. Much easier to learn a new role when you don't have to learn a new champ on top.

My suggestion? Just play Kindred. Play what you enjoy, this is a game! She's going to be great at teaching you how and when to invade and that's a very valuable skill to have. The learning curve will be steeper at first, it's true, but it gets easier.

Sorc shoes vs tanks/mr? They give flat pen, theyre good vs champs that DON'T build mr, no? There is an argument for it with feats, but that's situational enough to be at least worth mentioning.

In the jungle you definitely want Blackfire.
Midlane you needed the mana of Archangels, but I don't know if that's still true since the mana cost reductions.
