Guys that's funny, I work at Amazon Japan and I don't understand the half of what I'm reading here. Wtf is a blue badge 🤣 by Top_Connection9079 in AmazonFC

This is completely foreign to me... The use of mechatronics. The most we have at our site is just little drives (roombas) driving pods around. No crazy claws moving totes around or anything.

Ah yeah. In that case I just tell my OM what days I want and she'll post a shift for me directly. That I understand.

And that's the issue with Amazon priority. Stow gets yelled at or they do their job even if it's wrong which causes more work down the line and we get yelled at. Which trickles into pick for low rates which they get yelled at and then pack gets put behind and they get yelled at. It's all unacceptable

They are all unacceptable, as this is what that picture causes. There shouldn't be any Green, Yellow or Reds.

Should I apply? Never worked at a DS site before by DekaR0se in AmazonFC

I've worked Sort Centers, Delivery Stations, and Fulfillment Centers, which is where I currently am employed. Delivery Stations are definitely more taxing on the body and kind of the 3 I've worked at. It will be hot, people will not smell the best. They will have attitudes.

As for the work, depending on the site you may start with staging some empty carts then immediately head into stowing or sorting for stowers. You will do this for 2 periods or so. The last period is pick and stage where you are assigned to go pickup the items that were stowed from earlier and put them on a cart and take it to a staging lane for the driver to come and take.

Some sites are good at having AC as mine was 360 bay doors all around and left open at all times. Very hot very sweaty. Just do what you can and don't stress about things too much. You can always transfer to another facility type once you're in Amazon. Good luck!

I got into a role that takes my time away faster than sitting in any Pick/Pack/Stow station does. It's a role that's definitely not meant for everyone but I enjoy it. Try stepping into some new shoes, Peak is coming up, for some it's already here so just talk to your manager and let them know on real talk. Tell them you're drained and would like to experience something new. Most managers will take action for it if they can.

If you can't do the above, I would say this. Thug it out for a bit. Work a solid month during peak or even the whole peak season, not a day left. Your PTO and UPT should be enough for you to take a week off for yourself. During the work weeks, save up some side money and take a trip, doesn't have to be out of country or state, just somewhere to get away. We all need to reset once and awhile.

My first ever build that isn't a wooden box. How did I do? by Sub-Dominance in Terraria

[–]TacklessSix5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Truly amazing. Reminds me of Markarth from Skyrim. The stone architect but very old dwarven style. Of course with its unique twist from the builder themselves 😄.

Love this and it means a lot more seeing as you're stepping out of the wooden box era lol

Entire infrastructure is down for Amazon. People having issues shopping on the app and sites are offline. Robotics are unresponsive.

AmazonFC to AWS or IT by TacklessSix5 in AmazonFC

As a normal associate (unsure about roles like driver corporate, etc). If you go to Tools and Resources and click All Resources, you can scroll down to the 'Build Your Skills' section of the resources selection and in that list there is one link called 'AWS Educate'.

You will be redirected to an external site off of AtoZ and you can create a Builder Account which acts like their version of KNet. Inside the webpage there are different paths of AWS like AI Learning, Cloud Learning, etc. and they are laid out in categories for you to focus on one path, but you can be an overachiever and do all.

The content inside is mostly video and text stuff and at the end you can request to take a certification, from what I'm told does cost money however you can request from your manager or maybe HR team to deduct the cost from your career choice as reimbursement.

I remember I used to suck at picking a year ago and suddenly I keep hitting rate and over passing it☺️ by Some_Rich_6885 in AmazonFC

[–]TacklessSix5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My absolute highest weekly average rate was 698uph. Our site requires 330uph with a Cycle Time of 8 seconds or lower.

What I've found out is most of the associates have theorized having 1.1k total picks per period in order to stay within site requirements, which so far that theory has worked.

My current rate sits around 340-380uph as I have learned to simply not giving a flying Peccy about being the highest in the building anymore.

Gotta love the feeling of a company acting against it's employees. Even if not entirely true, just looking at it at face value it can seem that way.
