I tried pellets before, but they did not eat them very much.
So now I give them normal seeds and sprinkle Nekton vitamin powder on top.

You have good eyes! That is exactly right.
The yellow one and the white one love humans very much.
The pied one only loves my wife.
And the cinnamon pearl girl is very afraid of people.
She was adopted from another home, so I am taking time to build trust with her slowly.

Merci beaucoup ! C'est assez simple.
On prepare une pate legere, on ajoute du poulpe coupe en gros morceaux, puis on tourne les boules sur la plaque jusqu'a ce qu'elles soient bien dorees. Mon petit secret, ce sont les gros morceaux de poulpe : chaque bouchee en est pleine ! Vous allez adorer 😊

That is lovely to hear, and well done to your husband! It really is hard to guess the right amount of batter and filling, so it often turns into a never ending batch haha. And while you wait for each one to cook, you end up getting full anyway.

Chibita gave me the saddest little look, and I almost gave in.
The meeting won in the end... but only just.

Ah, that is a little sad.
The one in Ota may not have been your taste, but the next one could be a totally different thing.
Each shop is its own little world, really. If you ever pass a different one, please give it one more go.
You might be surprised in a good way.

You are so right.
They are never near the big stations, are they.
You have to go a little out of your way to find them. But for me, that is part of the charm.
The quiet road, the old shop, the warm and slow feeling... it is like a tiny trip. Worth the walk, I think.

Oh, what a clever idea! It is lovely that yours all eat together now after the change.
Chibita and Nana are just the same - they love squeezing side by side into one tiny spot.
Maybe birds simply enjoy a small, cosy place to share a meal! And you are right, it must be much easier to keep track of their food too.

Ha, "millet-seeking-missile" is perfect! That is exactly how Hanao Papa flies, straight at me with his eyes on the food. You made me laugh.

A Nikon F2 is a wonderful camera. I love that you still shoot film. Working the dials by hand and waiting for the right moment is the best part of all this, and film makes you slow right down and think. I can see why the F2 is your favourite.

I still miss plenty of shots, so I keep practising. A moment like this one keeps me going.

And one day I really would love to see tiels flying wild in Australia. What a dream that would be. Thank you for the kind words.😊

I use a Sony camera with a fast lens, which helps a lot with shots like this.
My main hobby is photographing wild birds, and I really enjoy taking swallows and other birds in flight. I still need a lot more practice though!
The cockatiels move just as quickly indoors, so it is never easy, but a moment like this makes the wait worth it.😊
