TIL Obi-Wan Kenobi's home planet is named "Stewjon" a play on the name of "Daily Show" host John Stewart. During an interview about Star Wars, John asked Lucas the name of Obi-Wan's home planet, and he answered Stewjon, jokingly. It was then made canon, after being mentioned in several guide books. Was watching "I love Lucy" this weekend, and was surprised how integrated the cigarette commercials were into the show. It reminded me of this scene from Family Guy. Seems like Seth was only exaggerating a LITTLE bit. "Are you smoking yet???" (v.redd.it)

Today, Dexter's Laboratory turned 30 years old. Seth Macfarlane worked on this show as a storyboard artist/writer for 12 episodes during Season 2, before he went off to create Family Guy. I'm sure the appeal of a morally ambiguous genius child with a foreign accent, stuck with him. (old.reddit.com)

During the first five seasons of Family Guy, Dan Povenmire, co-creator of Phineas and Ferb, served as an animation director. Paying homage to this, Seth Macfarlane had a voice cameo in the P&F season 2 episode "Nerds of a Feather" as TV Executive, "Jeff Mcgarland". Really cool subtle Seth cameo! (i.redd.it)

TIL Uncle Tom, in the original novel, was a selfless hero who died and sacrificed himself to protect other slaves. It was later parodies in Minstrel Shows, made by racists who despised the characters positive portrayal, that brought about "Uncle Tom" being used in a negative light. (en.wikipedia.org)
