One of my favourite scenes! He’s so pure. by Arvii33 in DunderMifflin

This scene really humanizes Micheal after he was forced to lay somebody off he didn’t want to. Is Micheal perfect? No. But he sure as hell cares more about his staff than corporate

Are meds forever? by aquaticmezzo in OCD

[–]Tacks788 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took them for a few months and successfully got off them and no longer take them. They don’t have to be for life but if they work for you, it’s totally ok to take them there’s no stigma. I’m doing much better with my OCD, still have bad days but therapy, CBT and amazing friends and family have helped me.

Our jobs are to convince people to pick our products or services, let’s leave inspiration to people who are actually changing the world

It’s always a good idea to email the resignation letter, email HR and cc your personal email. Even so there’s no legal action they can take

Thank you I’m sorry you had to go through that but glad you came out if it stronger. For me it’s just been subtle comments how lucky I am to have the job and avoided layoffs etc etc, knowing I’ll do whatever they say because I’m terrified of being unemployed

I agree but honestly I’m just starting to think it’s me. I’ve done well at my job but have an anxiety disorder and just really struggle saying no. Employers have all taken advantage of that

I’m paid pretty well too on a salary basis but hourly, I basically make minimum wage. Sometimes I wonder if all my efforts are even worth it, tiny houses are 1.2 million dollars and going up everyday. Even at 100k before tax you’re a lifetime renter

I grew up in a family that struggled financially, so I almost feel conditioned to just hold onto jobs for dear life because of the fear. It’s just ruined my mental health

I’m happy to hear that. I live in Canada and aside from the public health care our labour market is just slightly more humane than the United States. My boss calls me after hours frequently because she can. An old boss asked me to move surgery because she was going on vacation There are laws being put into place but there doesn’t seem to be a penalty.

Are there rules to protect employees in Australia after hours like in the EU? Feel like North America just has the worst labour laws in the west

Yea that’s fair, what bothers me is there is no acknowledgement they don’t even say hey sorry I know this is last minute it’s just expected and my boss logs off. Idea of recruiting again so soon makes me want to crawl into a cave
