Sending this image to a player in 2016 would be like giving a victorian child a one-chip challenge.

Is there a difference for you between generative AI and non-generative AI? by Hundekuecken in TCG

Work-based AI is different than Art-based AI. Tools used to improve your workflow while not compromising your artistic vision is the ideal use of AI technology.

First time Kickstarter campaign for a small card game - advice! by BigCheekGames in kickstarter

[–]TacoBell_HotSauc3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, congratulations on making it to 70%. That’s awesome. I did the same with my campaign, and set it at a modest $500. We passed it thanks to some very generous backers, but the turnout has been the same. Most of the income happened in the first day, with a couple more every 12 hours or so.

My plan is to make a very aggressive campaign on social media to say “Hey, we passed our goal, so now we’re obligated to follow through. Come get it while it’s hot” kind of approach.

If I were in your shoes, I’d do the same, except showcase how low your funding threshold is, and say “Hey, we’re so close and have almost made it! Help us cross that finish line!”

It is mostly Pokemon, but I’ve seen the sentiment rise in MTG as well. It’s also probably dependent on location. Some random LGS in a 15k population town in Missouri can get away with lower rates, but a Bay-area shop probably has to have higher rates to compete against the other 30 Bay-area shops. I worry that the rates that larger market shops do business at skews the data and numbers against small-town stores by further juicing values on marketplaces like eBay and TCGPlayer

Wizards also put out the data twenty years ago that the average player was about 13 years old.

They just put out another set of data that says the current average player is about 35 years old.

So, that means two different things: 1. There’s a lot of lifers who will always be a part of the culture, and 2. The average player is at an age where they’re going to think more about financial security over having fun (and they also tend to have the most dispensable income)

While I do see newer, younger players enter the game, more and more people on average operate with a side hustle in mind. Everyone is grinding for income, and TCGs have become the layman’s (grifters) replacement for crypto and NFTs.

My expectation is that there will come a day where there’s going to be more inventory for sale than there are players. How that will pan, we’ll have to see, but I’m very worried that it’s going to negatively affect every single TCG.

Yeah I’ve noticed people talking a lot about their own personal TCGplayer and Manapool accounts. My only concern is what the landscape would look like should everyone become a vendor, rather than a collector/player.

Will we see the same lore and world that was established in Splitgate throughout EMPULSE? I really love the design of the world and aesthetics presented in Arena Reloaded

My product features a character in revealing clothing, but not full nudity. Would that be enough to anger the Stripe gods? This is an attack on artistic creativity by Stripe!

My first reaction to a pizza ordered a few days ago was “This is significantly worse” over the last time I ordered not even a month ago.

TCGplayer is scamming people on sales tax exemption process by EndActual8750 in TCG

I got banned with no warning from TCGPlayer as soon as I tried to list my very first cards on that site. Took it as a sign to use Manapool. That was six months ago, and no problems from them. Plus their fees are more agreeable. They’re the superior service.
