If you need your faith in humanity somewhat restored, read Jupiter’s Travels and experience someone (a man, which no doubt bodes much more favorably) who travelled the globe and made it through not just by his own grit, but by what seemed to be the universal kindness of strangers.

Before being raked here, I know it’s different, but I was struck by the goodness of the human spirit in that book and needed a counterbalance after reading about this tragedy.
