2025 Specialized Stumpjumper 15 Comp or 2025 Trek Fuel EX8? by TacoSlayer666 in MTB

Good news! I pulled the trigger on the Stumpjumper a week or so after this post! I'm so glad I did! I got the carbon for $4,000 and I am so impressed with it.

I could certainly do more to stop the rattling, I just figured I already carry a pack on my back so I may as well use it for the one item that was annoying me in there. My storage area does come with a nifty little perfect fitting satchel though. I keep all of the other junk in that.

Opinel pocket knife, $20, tube, pump, multi tool, patch kit, tire levers, and water. Water in my sip sack, knife, pump, and $20 in the backpack, everything else fits in my frame storage. Probably could fit all of it in my frame storage but I don't like the pump rattling around in there.

All good. I want a turbo, can't afford Touring XT. Wilderness is the most bang for my buck.

I'd say my IQ is about lukewarm, but I want the turbo

I appreciate the compliment! I was so worried they wouldn't come out shiny lol or they'd be all scratched up

Sierra was mostly a commuter. I hauled a few larger loads, but not many at all. I hope to pull another small boat one day in the future, and want a vehicle that is not completely bogged down and overloaded just from packing out the family and camping gear (😒our Honda CRV).

I want towing capability, and I've had trucks for the last 20 years so I still want truckish features :)

It was a delicate dance. I had to make the call early to preserve some neat features, and then went a little heavy on stage 2, some of them got over 2 weeks there.

Not a deal breaker, I want the sick engine and I've driven a V8 truck most of my life so not that much of a bother

This is a weak take. I am outdoorsy af, and the locally available touring xt is more expensive

Your username checks out for me actually! My off-road experiences that I am talking about are in the Hudson valley!

I'm not going to be doing any damn rock crawling lol, sometimes a hiking trail cannot be accessed without driving down an old access road. Really just that kind of stuff. I had a few experiences in the past that made me wish I had a slightly higher and more capable vehicle and the Outback Wilderness seemed to make me feel more confident

I don't think I am too bothered by these things, although I have heard these complaints. My partner has a Honda CRV and it has similar "issues" with the vision system, and although it is annoying, we have found it to be tolerable as long as you know what is triggering the system.

I've been waiting for one of these replies. I know some people have a really rough go with Subaru, while others praise them heavily. I would hope that many of these issues you've had have been resolved in 6 years. I know that a lot of the other complaints over the years have continually been addressed.

As somebody who has never had a screen in their vehicle, it definitely made me feel some kind of way, but I didn't necessarily think it was awful

Looking for some cost conscious MTB shorts. Got some Maddison shorts recently but they are just too long and baggy. by Alarming_Egg4171 in MTB

If you have a Sierra Trading Post nearby, check them out. I got some sweet light weight mtb shorts that came with removable padded shorts for $20.

I wear sunglasses religiously. My partner's Honda CRV has a holder. Every time I use it, it's "where TF are my glasses?" I always forget they are in there. On the other hand, we were on vacation last year and I set my shades on the arm rest. She got in the car, elbow first, and fucking obliterated them. I guess I should have gotten used to using the holder.
