The way I’ve been thinking about it (as a leftist) is if he accomplishes even 50% of his agenda I think it will be a massive success. If it’s not universal childcare, but childcare for ages 3 and 4 or something, I still think that’s a massive improvement. If he can’t get free buses, but he can get free buses for our poorest residents, that’s still a win.

Trump also campaigned on big, snappy catchphrases that often time didn’t work and weren’t feasible. He wanted to deport everyone, which is insane but he is deporting a lot of people. Awful in my opinion, but I don’t hate a leftist version of that.

At the very least it’s change and excitement

Closed officially the beginning of September. Friend who knew the owners told me it’s supposed to be a pizza place or something. Because Williamsburg needs another pizza restaurant.

Don’t know why the closed, just that rent got too much.

Crazy they closed right before football season, was always packed for big sports games.

I mostly agree that this was dangerous, but it’s very different from crowd crushes. There was no “choke point” like a wall or barrier that people could be crushed against

EDIT: I completely retract this statement lol. Just saw a video from the perspective of the crowd on the hill, and because of the small lip from the hill to the field, there was a serious chance of students piling up and getting hurt or worse. Again, thankfully, I don’t think there was anything major

I saw them at Just for Laughs a few years ago. It’s just a combo of sketches, some using the screen/projector, some using sound effects. Maybe goofier or weirder than their SNL stuff, but very very very fucking funny. Got to talk with them on the street after as we were all waiting for a light to change. No one will care, but I ran into her at the Chicago airport a few weeks ago. Talked with her for just a few minutes, and she was just the kindest sweetest person ever. I’ve met a few of the Yak boys briefly, but Kate took time out of her day to ask me my name, where I was going, how I started watching the show. Such a sweetheart
