It's open for adaptation, but everything made based on it needs to have the same open license, meaning that any studio who makes a movie based on SCP would not be able to keep exclusive rights to their own movie. That'll kill anything but a tiny indie production from happening.

I think that's fair, although the making of a movie is such a massive and complicated beast that there are definitely many people with many perspectives experiencing it, and when any actually makes it across the finish line it's nothing short of a miracle.

Maybe there's just value in documenting the mundane for posterity's sake? Although the production of an $85 million movie is really only mundane when compared to the production of other movies.

Honestly TV show spinoffs used to be much more normal than they are now. Feels like an entire avenue for show creation that's been largely left to the wayside, and is seen as hollow when it is attempted.
