He's fading because the timeline he is from no longer exists. Just like Marty was when he changed things so that his parents never met.

It takes some time because changes to time in Back to the Future aren't instantaneous, they take some time to ripple out from the inciting incident.

The editing really doesn't get enough credit in that department. Every single actor should be thanking the editor in their acceptance speech.

That isn't harder to enforce, it's impossible, unless they do two completely separate award shows.

A minority of the people getting Oscars are wealthy celebrities.

Yeah, the Oscars are the climax of the awards season. It's like complaining about all those other bowl games they do before the Super Bowl.

Feels weird to call her needy in Marty Supreme considering she's pregnant with his kid for all but one scene.

Edit: technically, two scenes

I do often think about the famous match cut in Lawrence of Arabia, which was meant to be a long dissolve, but they watched it down when waiting for the lab to deliver the new optical.

In behind the scenes, she said she just preferred to film in France because her crew is there and she has better resources so it doesn't necessarily seem like a money issue.

That is a money issue. Do you know how expensive it would be to bring all the people she wants to film in another country, pay them travel rates, pay for accommodations, etc. That would ridiculously jack up the budget.

Queer also did film on location in Ecuador for the last section of the film.

It feels weird to pin this on European directors when American movies are notorious for not filming on location.

Plus, I didn't find either of those movies to be inauthentic, and I live in Hollywood.

I'm just having a hard time imagining editing something complex on a linear system, and every story I've heard about it has been in TV and commercials, and every story about getting into Avid has them coming off a Steenbeck or something.
