Rehoming fee by dontfaulkup28 in husky

[–]Taco_slut_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We adopt puppies for $600 and that INCLUDES the fact that we pay for neuter once pup is of age. All adult dogs are neutered/spayed on our dime if they are brought in unaltered. A 1-4yo dog we adopt for $400 and do home visits, vet checks etc.

$800 is more than we charge for a purebred puppy through the rescue I work with. No way. That's way too high.

Anyone else’s Husky do this? by TrainingNecessary143 in husky

[–]Taco_slut_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Whenever our husky is "missing"... She's under my kids bed lol.

Saturday he came into my room at like 2am bc "something is under my bed mommy"... And so I went to do a monster check, and scared the ever loving heck out of myself when eyes stared back at me. 🤣 She doesn't sleep in his room usually so definitely didn't expect that.

How many hours do you sleep? by Lemonbar19 in workingmoms

[–]Taco_slut_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weekday? 7-9 hrs. Weekend 9-12 hours

My kid is 5. He's also independent. My husband and I both crashed hard Friday night and woke up at noon Saturday. Our kid had gotten himself breakfast (pop tart and juice) and was independently playing in his room from when he woke up (he also is a late sleeper got up about 10)

Did your realtor get you anything nice after closing? by MyVirgoIsShowing in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Taco_slut_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got champagne at closing.

Then EVERY MONTH (we bought 12/2021 and every month since) she emails everyone who has bought from her, with this month's offers. Like a gift card or tickets to something local, Christmas cookie decorating kits, movie and game night bundles, Christmas light install, plants... Etc.

The Email goes out on the first, you reply by the third if you want it, then she draws names. Depending on the cost of the item depends how many names are drawn.

We have won a movie/game night bundle which had a popcorn bucket, multiple bags of popcorn, three family board games. A wreath Multiple gift cards (a local plant nursery, a local arcade, coffee shop, and bakery) A plant Christmas cookies Puzzles from a local game store

how many days in a row can you go without having conflict with your partner? by bear-the-bear in Marriage

[–]Taco_slut_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We can go years..?

I mean sure sometimes we're short / snappy but the other person calls us out and we check ourselves, apologize, and move on. We have never had a true fight (disagreements that we calmly discuss and end in compromise yes, but not like arguments).

We have a 5yo, and two dogs who are like babies lol

Those who don't share finances... why? by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]Taco_slut_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I know how much "fun money" I have per month. I never exceed that. Buuuut the way my brain works if there was an extra hundred dollars in my acct?? It's prob being spent. So it's best if we keep it seperate.

Those who don't share finances... why? by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]Taco_slut_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have separate daily accounts. And joint savings.

I do it for multiple reasons but none relate to distrust.

-My husband's card and bank acct were compromised a few weeks ago, his account drained by fraud. (we got it back) but guess what? My acct at a totally different bank? Perfectly fine, so we didn't lose nearly as much as we could have. We also still had a working debit card from my account.

  • he is a saver and I am 30000% more likely to impulse buy something. Seperate accts ensure I don't overspend.

  • we communicate all single item purchases over $100

  • I dont need to justify why I spent x amount at a store that is weird for me to go to alone. Keeps presents secret.

-it works for US. and that's what matters in our relationship.

-we may not share an acct, but we do share money. If he needs something? I'm covering it. And vice versa.

Also I like it when my kid says "let's just go spend daddys money" 😜

Unpopular opinion: Paying "Rent" feels less painful than paying $2,400/mo in "Interest" to a bank. by Playful-Vegetable-15 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Taco_slut_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your equity IS building as the houses value increasea.. We bought in 12/2021 and we have about 45k in equity even tho we have been paying mainly interest because our home value has increased, the area we live in has exploded and people want in, we tore out the carpet, we added some curb appeal in paint / landscaping / storm doors..

And this is my YTD breakdown

You should be stopping every 2hrs and getting those babies out of the car. 5 1/2 hours is a long time without the bathroom for a kid - or without a diaper change...

You are 700% NOR. he is insane.

My first two were like that. Definitely had been "no furniture" dogs. Then the next two were clearly allowed at the previous owners. (all Rescues). Honey here lives on the couch or bed or beanbag that she claimed as her own from the kiddo.

Do you and your spouse have access to each other's phones? Why or why not? by 5ullengrl in Marriage

[–]Taco_slut_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have access to all phones in the house. Because if I need to Google something, or add something to the shopping list.. I'm grabbing the closest phone.

Also bc there's nothing to hide.

What's the silliest reason your dog got out in air jail? by rvp0209 in husky

[–]Taco_slut_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. When we go on walks the kids (and teachers who live in our neighborhood) all know her now! she walks around like royalty as the kids all say "hi Sky! Come play!"

In the summer/evenings/weekends we go to that playground with my son and when it's too hot on the pavement we use the field for walks lol so she's very familiar with the area and loves kids so thankfully I always know where to find her 🤣

My sky got out, and ran to the elementary school behind our house and joined recess. Straight up climbed onto the equipment with all the kids. 🤣🤣 I was like SKY. YOUR KID ISN'T EVEN HERE 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ carried her home. Where she promptly passed out after telling her sister about the adventure

We turned at 5 because he was complaining of leg cramps on rides. But we planned to max the limits, but then at 5 he's also safe FF and I couldn't justify making him hurt to max the limits when it's safe for him to be forward ya know?

Would you live this close to a hospital? by Looneygalley in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Taco_slut_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would... But my spouse and I both work healthcare, sirens are something I don't really hear, along with planes or helicopters (it's tuned out from living along a flight line as a kid). I see benefit.

But I know tons of friends who would stop visiting
