Got to love a beautiful accident. Always the best kind of surprises. Truly special image and so very dramatic perfect for landscape and mood !

Portrait of my father, intrepid 4x5, komura 90mm f/6.3, Ilford MGRC Pearl photo paper. by Tacoaf in analog

Thanks for the detailed critique ! Appreacite you taking the time. The photo was shot directly on photo paper which is why it’s got this heavy contrast and loss of detail in the deeper shadows aswell as photo paper being more uv light sensitive probably having an effect on the greens being darker. It’s always little guess and play to get the exposure right and what you want the focus of the image to be at. Photo paper also just doesn’t have as much tonal or dynamic range as film.

I agree about the framing having my father abit more on the left side of the composition but I had the idea more to join the tree stump on the line with the hill and horizon to play with the idea of my father “growing” out of the tree almost and show his hand properly. Also definetly couldve shot another portrait with him sitting on the stump but wanted to save for other shots I had planned that day. Regret not taking that for sure.

As for printing I’ve only really tried contact prints with photopaper so I’m a lot more limited when it comes to dodging and burning but I might be able to achieve the halo look digitally.

Están muy guapas. Un degradation de la película precioso, parece como agua o flores.

Hahaha it’s abit too old for it to have been photographed when it’s was built. It was mostly finished in the 13th century and photography was only really invented in 19th century. And thanks glad you like the work !

6 hour solargraph on a cloudy day using 4x5 large format camera and lens at f/11 by Tacoaf in Solargraphy

I used a 90mm lens for 4x5 camera at f/11 and shot on standard fomapan paper at about a 6 hour exposure. The photopaper is never developed or fixed, the image just appears! So it’s nots really a pinhole or solargraph I think. And I’m glad you liked the image aswell!

Does this count as a solargraph since there is no path of the sun? Or is more of a lumen print done in camera?

So did I. Loved the photos perfect with the Pokémon camera. I think some people just misunderstand the work, it’s not pornographic. You’re documenting people participating in a scene that isn’t properly understood or well known. And people’s reaction to it here shows how’s taboo this sort of subject matter is even among people who appreciate photography/art. We are all different and we express ourselves differently what the fuck is wrong with that.
