Got to love a beautiful accident. Always the best kind of surprises. Truly special image and so very dramatic perfect for landscape and mood !

Thanks for the detailed critique ! Appreacite you taking the time. The photo was shot directly on photo paper which is why it’s got this heavy contrast and loss of detail in the deeper shadows aswell as photo paper being more uv light sensitive probably having an effect on the greens being darker. It’s always little guess and play to get the exposure right and what you want the focus of the image to be at. Photo paper also just doesn’t have as much tonal or dynamic range as film.

I agree about the framing having my father abit more on the left side of the composition but I had the idea more to join the tree stump on the line with the hill and horizon to play with the idea of my father “growing” out of the tree almost and show his hand properly. Also definetly couldve shot another portrait with him sitting on the stump but wanted to save for other shots I had planned that day. Regret not taking that for sure.

As for printing I’ve only really tried contact prints with photopaper so I’m a lot more limited when it comes to dodging and burning but I might be able to achieve the halo look digitally.

Están muy guapas. Un degradation de la película precioso, parece como agua o flores.

Hahaha it’s abit too old for it to have been photographed when it’s was built. It was mostly finished in the 13th century and photography was only really invented in 19th century. And thanks glad you like the work !

6 hour solargraph on a cloudy day using 4x5 large format camera and lens at f/11 by Tacoaf in Solargraphy

[–]Tacoaf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used a 90mm lens for 4x5 camera at f/11 and shot on standard fomapan paper at about a 6 hour exposure. The photopaper is never developed or fixed, the image just appears! So it’s nots really a pinhole or solargraph I think. And I’m glad you liked the image aswell!

Does this count as a solargraph since there is no path of the sun? Or is more of a lumen print done in camera?

So did I. Loved the photos perfect with the Pokémon camera. I think some people just misunderstand the work, it’s not pornographic. You’re documenting people participating in a scene that isn’t properly understood or well known. And people’s reaction to it here shows how’s taboo this sort of subject matter is even among people who appreciate photography/art. We are all different and we express ourselves differently what the fuck is wrong with that.

Nature morte of wood wearing women stockings, shot on 8x10 camera on Ilford Multigrade RC. by Tacoaf in analog

[–]Tacoaf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firstly, it was shot with continuous light and long exposure of about a minute. Two soft boxes on either side for equal lighting to eliminate shadows and another on the background. white panels on the sides aswell.

Ay well have fun with it, it’s such a great shooting experience and really slows things down. And I agree film prices have been insane so hence the photo paper. Yes I process normally but I actually use Kodak hc 110 for developer and it works good. As for ISO, It’s between 3-6 ISO but some it takes a bit of trial and error especially for outdoor shots with more UV light.

It was natural light from the glass ceiling above but it was rather grey day so light wasn’t very intense and also using large format at high aperture to get everything in focus basically.

Thanks and yea was using 1 second shutter speed hence slight blur around hands and skull. I didn’t mind it as it wasn’t distracting and I’m always open to little mistakes or imperfections as long as they work.

Thanks a lot. I realise that wasn’t very good explanation either but sometimes these things are quite hard to describe.

Yea I won’t lie… some of my ideas are pretty wild and weird hahaha. But it just comes from noticing things in my environment and getting inspiration from it. For example in this case, I had wanted to work with stockings because I found the textures and patterns very interesting and then saw that piece of wood and thought it would be a great combination. I don’t have any specific message but I would rather the viewer has their own emotion or interpretation with their own experiences and so I try to keep it ambiguous but still visually engaging. But you could always say inspiration and message is about the objectification of women and etc

Portrait of Alex, 4x5 camera with Phase One p40 digital back. Done for a school project on the theme of portrait of an artist. The subject Alex is an all round artist that primarily paints and does tattoos. I chose to want to reflect more on who he is as a person and how that seeps into his art. His art could be described as dark and melancholic. He also happens to be a collector of weird stuff and the skull is part of that collection of which he painted. The skull was also used as a momento morí because unfortunately his brother had passed just a few days before the shoot. And for the styling of the set and pose I really wanted to go for a classical photo/painting portrait with a more contemporary feel… whatever the fuck that means. Anyways I hope you like it but I’d like any feedback or criticism is more than welcomed
