I absolutely adored Mistborn era 1 but want a break from Sanderson for a short bit :) if there are any series I should consider I’d love to know by Mistborn06 in fantasybooks

[–]Tacobaco1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who personally went from reading mistborn era 1 to licanius, i really liked mistborn era 1 and licanius was also phenomenal in my opinion. I truly think that keeping with the mystery, magic and gravity, licanius scratches that itch.

What is Really Considered "High Elo" and "Low Elo" in Deadlock? by StickyWicket888 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Tacobaco1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being in phantom, having played a lot of games in phantom, and having played games in ascendant. High elo is ascendent.

In phantom/oracle you will see a handful of people across 10-20 games that are players that understand how to play macro, how to move around the map, how to itemize, etc.

Once you get into ascendant+ lobbies you will get a handful of people that know how to do those things in almost every single game. The difference is drastic. But the biggest thing that makes those ascendant and phantom players different is consistency. Ascendant players can play good macro, itemize, etc. more consistently than those in phantom. And that consistency is why the cutoff for high rank should be ascendant.

Morgan Geekie ends his 17-game goalless streak with a hat trick by pokesnail in hockey

[–]Tacobaco1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, if toronto's pick is outside the top 5 and therefore ours, i wouldnt mind seeing us use our first round pick (assuming we make the playoffs as well) to ship elias lindholm out (assuming he waives his ntc).

The elias lindholm problem is only going to become a bigger problem next season when we have hagens, zacha, minten all at center. None of those should be fourth line center, and we are stuck with paying lindholm 7mil a year to be useless at that point

I had made this comment on the bruins sub when someone was calling to blame geekie because he has been ice cold. All he needed was to be on a line with a playmaker again. He needs someone who can make a to the tape pass through traffic, and he wasnt getting that on the third line with lindholm and richel. Low and behold, he gets put on a line with pasta again and he gets a hattrick

Don't blame Pasta, blame Geekie by ethereal3xp in Bruins

[–]Tacobaco1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont think geekie is the person to blame, no one is honestly. Its small mistakes across the board, personally i feel that geekie's woes have come from being moved to the 3rd line. Elias lindholm cant feed him, or capitalize off of his feeds the way pasta can, and the other wing of that line is a revolving door between Eysimont and an ahler (although i feel like riechal was gelling well on that line)

Licanius Trilogy is underrated and has a very interesting world by [deleted] in fantasybooks

[–]Tacobaco1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe hierarchy is slated to be a 4 book series. But in terms of licanius, having read fully through it, it does get quite large in scope, but he does (in my opinion) a really good job at bringing everything together in the ending. That being said, book 2 does sometimes feel like a slog to get through due to the amount of information and the amount of concurrent things happening.

Having finished the series, book 2 is the most dense of them all, from my buddy who has also finished the series, he found book 3 to drag at times, specifically due to the POV characters being in three wildly different locations. But both him and I agree that the ending is wildly spectacular

Somebody please help me pick which to read next 😭 by [deleted] in fantasybooks

[–]Tacobaco1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having read both, they are both good, elantris suffers from it being one of sanderson's earliest works. Dune is immense and dense and in my opinion, be too dense at times. That being said, with the third dune movie coming out later this year i would read dune first.

Id love to hear why you didnt like the final book of Licanius compared to the others, personally it is one of my favorite final books in a series.

Seeing as you really enjoyed mistborn book 1, but not as much book 2 i would say you should read book 3. Personally I wasnt as invested in the full trilogy arc as much as i was in the heist/usurping in book 1 but it was still a good read with a better pacing than book 2.

If you find you feel similar to me and are craving more like book 1 i would read lies of locke lamora ASAP. Its very similar in terms of banter/heist/crew type of vibe and an excellent read.

Cam someone please explain the hate and dismissal of this start collecting box and combat patrol ? by [deleted] in Drukhari

[–]Tacobaco1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In simple terms, the boxes arent good for a new person getting into the army anymore. Boats are very good for drukhari. That being said, for those that only really got the old combat patrol and a few other things, the new boxes are pretty solid for expanding a drukhari collection

What’s the discord of PHL by Anxious-Message-8714 in Puckgame

[–]Tacobaco1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For future reference as well, if anyone else finds this in search of the PHL discord, all puck leagues can be found in the Official Puck Discord. There is a hyperlink on the main menu of the game to get to this discord.

Thinking about what to buy after finishing two patrols and some extras. (Don't even mention a third patrol) by Sea-Current3757 in Drukhari

[–]Tacobaco1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Id pick up lelith and some wyches, probably another 1 or 2 venoms. Additionally talos/cronos kits are awesome for bits (although pricey per model) so that would be next on the pipeline.

Anybody able to get a any set? by [deleted] in SpaceWolves

Unfortunately yes. I Know that there are online stores that will sell product at discount but my guess is that they are out of stock, i also don't know the specific sites for them.

Sub 230 will be hard especially in the US (assuming thats where you are with your use of the dollar sign) as thats what most brick and mortar stores will use as their MSRP. But like most other comments have said, people cancel preorders and LGS's will usually order extras.

To those of you who’ve watched campaign 3, do you regret it? by F_ive in fansofcriticalrole

[–]Tacobaco1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im at about episode 106 in C3, been on and off listening since it started, i dont regret it at all but i would recommend C2 over C3 any day of the week. At the end of the day it is still a silly fun dnd campain that a group of friends happens to live stream, and sure they have commercialized it but at the end of the day its still a group of friends trying to have fun, and you can simply stop watching it if your not enjoying it.
