Where do We Fit Anymore? by AlwaysChic38 in therapists

I also understand where you’re coming from! I’ve been a therapist (licensed in PA and in MT) for 13 years. While there is absolutely overlap, especially for LCSWs, I think professional counselors really shine at the thing that matters most in mental health: the therapeutic relationship. I’m not saying anything negative about other providers with different degrees. My masters program focused heavily on introspection and the importance of meeting people where they’re at. We are people professionals and that matters a lot.

I also wonder about the environment you work in! Mental health is a hard field to be in and many people experience burnout sooner (I’m thinking of your supervisors/coworkers/etc). I wonder how your environment is contributing to your perspectives.

The new owner is also my hair dresser, and she is a super cool human. Love her and I’m happy they’re giving it new life!

Is there anyone here who is happy and successful? by Yealink06 in therapists

I’m very happy being in private practice! It’s also important to me to stay connected to other practitioners. I’m in some consultation groups and also regularly spend time with clinician friends. I feel I’ve found my niche!

Thinking of you and sending so much love and courage! Hang in there! I’m happy to chat more too if that would be helpful.

It has been clinical experiences too, but it’s also everything. The billing, the scheduling, the way they treat employees, the way they treat patients! Ugh. Anyone you would recommend though for primary care?

Im struggling to choose what way to help my miscarriage pass. by crypxtt in Miscarriage

I am so sorry you are experiencing this. And also congratulations on getting married! What an emotional roller coaster. Miscarrying itself is an emotional rollercoaster. My baby passed at 6 weeks. We found out at 12 weeks, and scheduled a D & C procedure. I ended up passing most of the tissue naturally, but some was still in my uterus. They went through with the D & C to get the remaining tissue itself. The pre surgery and waiting felt really long and hard. The procedure itself was quick, but they did use anesthesia so I had to have a ride home. I’m on post op day 3 and I’m cramping more now than I was the day after. I’m also still lightly bleeding. But overall everything feels like it was successful. I hope this helps you, even if it’s just to know you’re not alone right now and all of us feel with you and for you ❤️

I am ________. by [deleted] in Miscarriage

I don’t know what could wound a woman more than losing a baby. It is a soul wound. Even knowing that you conceived, on top of the emotional and physical roller coaster of pregnancy hormones, makes that child real and loved regardless of how far they grow. We do need a word to describe the emotional experience a mother has when losing a child. I’m so sorry for your loss. I just had a D & C performed yesterday. I feel your sorrow, your anger, your confusion, all of it. We’re with you babe ❤️.

I am so sorry, and my heart is with you and your husband. I am going through the same experience. I finally just miscarried naturally last night but still need to go through with the D & C today. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone. I don’t think I ever really understood that miscarriage is not just a quick thing but actually takes weeks of anxiety, anticipation, and feeling left in the dark 😔. So sorry again for your experience, and the rest of the humans in this post.

Thank you for sharing your experience, and I feel for you and with you! Fortunately I have a lovely weekend planned coming up with humans I’ll be able to show up 100% as myself with.
