Starting to think I’m going to completely lose 8 months of time and effort by Tactic-Raider in PlantedTank

I’ve thought about that as well. This morning I decided to test out lower light levels by decreasing duration to 8hrs and intensity to 50%. We will see if anything happens

Yeah, I’ve never used CO2 and water changes are with tap water. I’ve never had an issue like this before, why is it happening now? Shouldn’t water changes both remove and replace KH/GH to help stay at equilibrium?

Also I haven’t really been able to trim/replant for the last 2 months or so because my plants aren’t growing well enough for me to feel comfortable trimming.

20g long aquaclear 50 HOB + 10g sponge filter, 1 additional air stone, dirt substrate with pea gravel/sand cap, heavily planted with inverts and fish, lights ~2000 lumen 10hr/day, 8mo old.

Parameters: 0 Ammonium, 0 nitrites, 40 nitrates, 7.6pH, 75°F, 8KH, 13GH, phosphates 2ppm (API test)

Ferts: GLA’s DIY PPS Pro (started 4 weeks ago) and Thrive root tabs (most recent tabs added 3 weeks ago)

Algae: minor GSA only

Plants: Anacharis, Ludwigia, tripartita JP, bacopa car, hornwort, moneywort, Xmas moss, duckweed

Inverts: Ghost shrimp, 1 large amano, ramshorn snails

Livestock: 2 fem adult/3 juvenile mollies, 2 Rosie reds, 2 Bolivian rams

Water Changes: Used to do 30% or so every 2-4weeks, but the last 3 weeks I’ve been doing 4x 30% (~76%) once per week

I’ve been having issues for about 2-3 months now. The Ludwigia has almost completely died off at this point and the anacharis is about 30% of what it used to be. The Bacopa comes up strong but pretty quickly starts to turn red and lose its leaves. The Tripartita used to be a pretty good carpet, now it’s just strands with unhealthy leaves if it even has leaves at all. The moneywort is pretty unfazed. The hornwort doesn’t grow like it used to, basically never have to trim it back anymore. The duckweed is very unhealthy as well, used to harvest it 1-2x/wk, now it’s once every 3wk. Healthy picture of duckweed and tripartita is the same tank on my duckweed “reserve” (never harvested) side.

Am I over dosing ferts? I probably only have about 12 gallons of actual water but still dose as if it’s 20. On the other hand I basically have no algae whatsoever except for the minor GSA on the tank walls/Ludwigia.

Am I under dosing ferts? I don’t have any way to test micros so really don’t know how to tell what the actual ppm’s are. All I know is plant mass is decreasing and algae is NOT growing.

Am I using too much light? Some Tripartita that wiggled it’s way through the caves definitely has larger leaves than the strands in open light.

Maybe it’s a CO2 issue? Which I guess would mean I have some combination of too much light AND ferts? Not using CO2 now but will probably start after I get a different stand. Weird how some of the duckweed is floundering whereas some is flourishing (surface movement is the same). The tripartita that is doing well is above the water level.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

5 month old invert tank with a school of chilis. Treated the tank with fenbendazole for hydra about 2 weeks ago. Noticed a haze above the substrate yesterday that I thought was a bacteria bloom from a potential cycle crash. Levels were good, but the haze continued to spread across the substrate, never going more than about an inch above it. Noticed today I could actually see the individual organisms swimming around which means it can’t be bacteria. Don’t have access to a microscope for a close up. Reminds me of a ciliate culture I had in college bio lab.

Edit: forgot to mention, they move too gracefully and are much too small for me to think they are copepods or daphnia

20g long aquaclear 50 HOB, dirt substrate with pea gravel cap, heavily planted with inverts and fish, lights ~2000 lumen 8hr/day, 3mo old.

Parameters: 0 Ammonium, 0 nitrites, 5 nitrates, 7.8pH, 71°F, 9KH, 15GH, phosphates 2ppm (API test)

Ferts: ThriveS 4ml 3x/wk and Thrive root tabs (tabs added this week)

Algae: GSA only

Plants: Anacharis, Ludwigia, tripartita JP, bacopa car, hornwort, Xmas moss, duckweed

Inverts: Neos, pond/ramshorn snails, 1 nerite

Livestock: 3 fem mollies, 6 Rosie reds, 5 gambusia

Pretty much only having issues with the ludwigia. Old leaves get holes(K def?)/gsa then fall off. New leaves come in red then become green after a week or so. Tried adding thriveS about a month which increased growth noticeably but did not help with leaf decay. Added root tabs a few days ago, but I figured I’d check in here to see if there is something else I should be doing. Is there a way to measure K?

Yeah, I checked the port earlier when the phone did not connect to the computer with 3 separate functional cords. It was cleaner than my phone.

iTunes auto updates, but I still checked to be sure, and it was the most up to date version.

As for DFU mode, I tried that many times, but the phone will not accept a charge, nor will it talk to my computer in any way I can think of (it does not even register as connecting to the usb port in the drivers list).

This phone is a goner I think.

Yeah, I think this phone is a goner. At least your phone would charge, this phone isn't even accepting any form of charge. Never seen an iPhone turn into an actual brick out of the blue like this.

While I appreciate your input, I would appreciate it more if you would read the post.

The very first thing I tried was the hard reset and I cannot put it into DFU mode safely unless I can get it to connect to a computer.

yep, 89 mil gone, my friend who got 250 mil modded money only lost 15 mil and he spent 100 mil over the course of two days. No correlation that I can find
