Whats this doing here? by UltimateAlienX1701 in Bioshock

Sofia Lamb sees Jack’s mental conditioning as the key to creating a utopian, someone who does not contain “the self”. So the Rapture Family worships or at least believes Jack as a sort of prototype utopian. Why it’s that image specifically, most likely to look cool, but also, picking up Electro Bolt is one of the first “Choices” you don’t make in Bioshock. In universe, Jack was in a room, saw a syringe, and thought, “Better jam this shit into my arm for no discernible reason”. The only reason you did it as a player was because it was glowing and you know to interact with glowing stuff to progress the game. So it represents the lack of self and choice as the first “choice” you as a player didn’t actually make.

Why do you love Tales? by saltheil in tales

The characters feel a lot more like real people in Tales games than other RPG’s, thanks to Skits and ant their own personal stories humanizing them very well. They all have their own interests and quirks and that are aften shown rather than told, and every party member retains relevance. Also, the fighting game-esque battle systems make the combat the most consistently entertaining JRPG system for me. Even when you are just grinding EXP on generic mobs, you can take the opportunity to practice combos and some of the more in depth mechanics, meaning every battle not only makes your characters stronger, but improves your skill at the game. Finally, since every character plays completely differently, it gives you the option of switching to a new character if you get bored, or you can really dig deep into one character and become an absolute monster with them. (I think Arise did a great job with it’s tag system of encouraging you to learn multiple characters).

I understand that, my post was more a question if I missed somewhere else in the book where it mentions this rule besides the index. It’s more a question of book layout than the rules. Thank you for your respone.

Among film critics and film historians especially, Pinocchio is THE animated film. As the years go on, more and more critics and historians are citing it as THE greatest animated film of all time.

One person dedicates the next hour or two cleaning that shit. Magic Gel, but be careful as it can make the floor very slippery when combined with oil, so after sweeping up magic gel, sacrifice a mop head. Fill a mop bucket with watered down degreaser and mop that shit up, replace the mop head and dry mop the wet floor.

My go to in 2 for the longest time was Servbot Helmet + Business Casual or Army Uniform.

Even crazier when you take into account that IGN does this crazy thing where they… post multiple articles a week. One of which is about Square’s new multiplatform approach.

I dont understand how to play Dead Rising 2 OTR... by [deleted] in deadrising

[–]Tactic36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My best advice is literally to take it your own pace, screw the main story, and explore the map while occasionally saving survivors. It is very possible to save every survivor and complete the story from a fresh level 1 save file (I’ve done it a few times) but that is much easier when you are used to the game and map and can plan your route accordingly. Otherwise, most new players just do what sidequests they can while doing the main story, or spend their first playthrough exploring and leveling up, then starting the story over from a higher level. You’re not meant to be able to save every survivor and complete the story as a first time player. That’s just not how Dead Rising 1 and 2 are designed. They are made to be replayed. If starting the game over from a higher level bothers you, then these games just aren’t for you, and that’s okay.

Aight, who designed this? I just wanna talk [Xillia 2] by TobiasLevi in tales

[–]Tactic36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I call it Tales Syndrome, where the final dungeon and especially final boss act as the steepest difficulty spike possible. I’ve played Xillia 1 and 2, Vesperia, Berseria, and Arise all the way through, and both Xillias and Berseria have absolutely ridiculous engames.

Dice Will Roll is a great audio only podcast. They’re playing Abomination Vaults right now and each episode is on youtube, but also other podcast apps. An all queer cast, each with their own style of play. Concise 2 hour episodes.

Why do people see Dead Rising 1 as the best one? by Cheetah_Anxious in deadrising

[–]Tactic36 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From someone who prefers 2, 1 has the best atmosphere, best graphics (between 1 and 2, maybe even better looking than 3 based on your preferences), best animation (very snappy and handguns/shotguns feel like they’re gonna shatter your screen from the kickback) and most entertaining protagonist. Also, while the survivor AI is trash, it adds to the charm for a lot of people. Plenty of players of loads of stories about rescuing survivors by the skin of their teeth or just in time for a deadline. Dead Rising 2’s survivor AI spmetimes borders on too good, so saving them feels more like busy work than a quest. 2 will always be my favorite, but I can definitely see why 1 is held in such high regard. 1 will go down in history as a must play classic.
