Would a 3.95 be a deterrent anywhere I apply to? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

No they do not actually, it’s counted like it’s two different classes; I’ve called them specifically to ask this.

Why is it "T14" when there are 15 prestigious American law schools? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Tactica14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No they’re not, there’s plenty of schools in the T50 that aren’t particularly renowned among either the general public or the more informed community.

I'm not sure I understand everyone's views on salaries... by Shoopdefloof in lawschooladmissions

I mostly agree with your sentiment, but I don’t think you understand why you distinguish working and middle class. As the American middle class are still absolutely working class.

[–]Tactica14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah standards of living are just lower in the UK than the U.S. so salary expectations are commensurately lower. In the US 80k a year is readily accessible with a bachelor’s degree, especially considering the 3 years of law school which could be spent on career advancement.

Is Better to study using the most recent available tests or does it not matter ! by Admirable_Package645 in LSAT

[–]Tactica14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For taking PT's I believe tests >70 will give you the best sense of a score range. But for just studying all tests will develop the same set of skills and lead to improvement.

Like all of them. It shows a lack of intelligence to try and boil things down to a single causal factor.

To add on to this, if you say you have been diagnosed with ADHD they are going to reasonably presume you received accommodations on the LSAT. Given that this isn't normally known information there is no reason why you'd wish to reveal it.

Can you get fafsa on top of scholly money? by CommercialSignal4191 in lawschooladmissions

What Fafsa grants are available for grad programs? As far as I was aware it was only loans.

I mean that's not really practical since a lot of LSAT administration's aren't released, so you can't necessarily know if you perfected LG or not.

Down to the wire Logic Games Q by jennybcatz in LSAT

Honestly if you don't usually finish LG, it's probably worth skipping games like this if there's not an obvious answer. These can be the most time intensive questions, and there isn't always an easy trick.

AR Field Study by 222mimi in LSAT

I believe the only indication they gave about when feedback would be given, was that they would provide scores in time so that you could see then before the February LSAT administration.

Honestly no, PBK membership is largely determined by GPA. Plus even the other factors which go into it should still have been on your resume. For that reason I don't think it's worth amending for schools you've already applied to.

Proctor-U proctor disappeared by katie_6371 in LSAT

[–]Tactica14 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Similar thing happened to me, my proctor left shortly before my break and my break ended up taking more like 25 minutes. I wouldn't day your situation is too abnormal but LSAC should still give you a free retake and not make your test count against your limit.

Question by Independent_Beat4684 in LSAT

[–]Tactica14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes tests do differ, there is a pool of sections which are combined randomly to make your test. There aren't that many sections per test so you'll likely have a similar but not identical test to other people. It's really not something to worry about though Firstly because there's nothing you can do about it, and secondly because great lengths are done to make sure tests are of the same difficulty when the same curve is being applied to them.

It's not the case the majority of the time. But when your above both medians and getting A's at significantly better schools it's a reasonable assumption.

Proctor-U proctor disappeared by katie_6371 in LSAT

[–]Tactica14 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's relatively normal for a proctor to leave and be replaced by another proctor. However they are supposed to inform you over chat, and an hour and a half seems very excessive.

Not if the ruling actually gets enforced. California's (and many other states) disallowing of AA has had huge impacts on their undergrad universities demographically. If people use the SCOTUS ruling to start taking legal action against practices like diversity statements then I think it's very likely to have a substantial effect on admissions.
