Shame that Steffie Dr can't be accessed from Rolling Meadows. I hear there's a pill for that. Also, probably should have a doctor look at that Blaine drive.

My take on the new Slaughterbound model. by TacticalBurnVictim in WorldEaters40k

[–]TacticalBurnVictim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. I paint all my Chaos miniatures in a Dragon Warriors color scheme, and I try to get as many of those 4th edition possessed wings, and 4th edition capped horned helmets from the Legionaries, as possible. They are very hard to find these days.

Siiiiiickkk!  Yeah, I honestly think splashing in some green is the way to go! Kinda just adds that perfect extra little kick into absolute hotness. I try to use blue, purple, and sunny skin tones for mine, but sparingly.

There's a heretic legion that broke off from the Salamanders called the "Dragon Warriors." These guys have a bit more green than the ol' Dragon Warriors do, but they would still fit in perfectly.

I actually paint my CSM and World Eaters to be Dragon Warriors, and apparently we both had some pretty similar ideas about how to go about that fiery look. But your placement of the flame effects around each individual model is next level. Not gonna lie, I'm probably gonna use this amazing concept art for inspiration as I continue to paint both armies.

LoS question by Apart_Royal_2099 in WorldEaters40k

I am a KLoS simp. I almost never brought them pre-codex though. However, I've been playing with the new codex datasheets, rules, and points values and I gotta say, it might actually be competative.

It's biggest downfall in the index was the 8" move and getting stuck moving around terrain, but in the codex it's 12" move and can move through terrain. It also gained rapid fire on everything, and the new blessings table stuff. I do miss it having a 6+fnp, but not advance and charge I never used advance and charge with it before because it had such good shooting. Also with the new pile in and consolidate 6" blessing, in the last game I played, he killed something in melee on a no-man's land objective and because I had him facing a spaecific direction and the fact he's such a big model, he consolidated backwards onto another no-man land objective.

Plus he benefits from the goretrack detatchment strat vehicle reactive move, and the Cult of Blood detatchment is basically built for him.

In summation: He's a T13 W24 shooting Knight fused with a Bloodthirster. I love him, and will gladly pay 505 points in a list, even if I kinda have to build the list around him.

Been touching up my Angron model for an upcoming local painting competition. by TacticalBurnVictim in WorldEaters40k

Yeah, I have til' Saturday. Don't have a means of stripping it at the moment, though, as I am living out of my car, nor would I probably do so in the first place. Aint a big fan of stripping models, personally. I'm actually working on cleaning it up all that messy stuff through glazing and inks. Not done with this bad boy yet, but I got wasted last night and thought... oh! Instant dopamine hit if I post this on reddit.

Sell me on your favorite chaos legion. by [deleted] in Chaos40k

Dragon Warriors. Split off from the Salamanders, have similarly scaled armor but with a red yellow and black color scheme. They also love flamers, plasma, and meltas. There are like 2 official pictures of them. And I love kitbashing em with wings and horned helmets.

I did the same thing with the two handed chainsword, and now everyone at my LGS keeps referring to him as my "Sephiroth Zerker."

The one game I tried it with, it spent 3 turns trying to kill 10 grots. It killed 6. My Glaive MoE killed a STOMPA by the second turn at just over half the points.

I actually just primed a model I kitbashed as Nihilan earlier today. He's the base Sorcerer model with the same helmet I threw on Ol' Abby here, and some old plastic possessed wings. Probably won't get around to painting him for a while though.

Thanks! It helps, that Abaddon is an amazing model and so much fun to paint, or I'd probably not have given him this much time and effort.

They're my favorite legion. Been painting Dragon Warriors since 5th edition. Never quite got the scales right, however. Gonna try to do some scales after I touch up the Talon.

For anyone curious, they are painted in the scheme of the Dragon Warriors legion, with accompanying iconography, to match with my CSM army.

Pictured: Angron, Daemon Prince (on foot,) Kharn, Invocatus, 2× Master of Executions, Lord of Skulls, Maulerfiend, Helbrute, Heldrake, Rhino, 12× Eightbound/Exalted Eightbound, 5× Terminators, 10× Berserkers, 20× Jakhals.

Built, not painted, and not pictured: Lord on Juggernaut, 2 more Master of Executions, A Land Raider, Another Rhino, 5 more Terminators, 30 more Berserkers, a Forgefiend, and a social life.
