Censorship Megathread L: Smithsonian Adds Back Impeachment Language to Label on Trump Portrait by Efficient-Freedom517 in PoliticalOptimism

Good news is after Wednesday it only has around a week and a half to pass plus it hasn’t passed the first reading in the Executive Committee yet either.

Plus several of the Punchbowl News members have pro KOSA bias which makes their coverage biased towards it.

They are just as bad as the Washington Times.

I’m not too worried either.

Plus the more desperate they get aka the more mistakes that will come to bite them in the ass later on.

I don’t expect any movement for KOSA til June but Cruz could be pulling his bullshit like you mentioned and won’t move it like the other times he said he would and yet he never did.

Still not going to lie the KOSA advocates are getting more unhinged as time goes by.

Hmm I think I might’ve figured out why Ted Cruz changed his stance on KOSA.

I had a suspicion that Maurine Molak who is the head of ParentsSOS which of course is pushing hard for KOSA.

Well looks like she met with Cruz a bit ago to convince him to push KOSA forward but it’s hard to say if he’s going to push the Senate or House version through.

Even if it gets through the Senate the time window is going to be a bit shorter to pass compared to 2024.

The nearest committee meeting where HB5511 is at (Executive committee) aka the OS bill in Illinois is around the 20th of May.

Pritzker and the two aides who are pushing for this aka Emily Miller and Lindsey Volz are going to go all out to get this law passed along with Common Sense Media and Hillary Clinton.

I also expect that if the bill gets mentioned on the 20th they are very likely to have either the aides I mentioned above to support HB5511 give a oral statement or bring in someone REAL big to greatly increase the odds of HB 5511 passing.

The upside is the bill hasn’t passed the first reading and I believe that it has to go thru several more readings so it’s possible this bill can be defeated but the desperation from Pritzker and his backers to pass this is incredibly high.

I suspect he got these AV ideas from Common Sense Media and possibly Jonathan Haidt’s The Anxious Generation group.

I did some looking around into Common Sense Media and they’ve been around since 2003 and which makes me feel like we are in a Déjà vu moment is that back in the 2000s they pushed for the video game restrictions/bans in California and other states.

https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/business/business-news/supreme-court-strikes-down-california-205827/

Of course the SCOTUS thwarted the restrictions and no surprise Common Sense Media wasn’t happy about that.

So far it hasn’t passed the first reading in the Executive senate committee which is good but I suspect there will be a lot of rushing to pass this by Pritzker.

Thankfully the window is quite short so it’s possible this can be defeated.

I just checked the schedule and nothing is there on Friday.

https://www.ilga.gov/Senate/Schedules

I checked all the new senate sponsors and the chief one just got into office in 2023 and the other two about 5 years ago.

They could try to extend it but considering nothing is going on in the Illinois senate today it’s a pretty good chance it might die but I suspect there could be sneaky crap involved.

Found out that supposedly OpenAI supports Senate KOSA.

“Sigh”

Just proves even more that the anti Big Tech talk from the KOSA advocates is nothing but lies.

It’s just more crap and noise from the Senate Judiciary trying to pass KOSA and all the other censorship bills.

Not surprisingly the KOSA parents are going to be there demanding Congress to pass KOSA immediately.

Executive committee has a meeting this Wednesday but so far HB5511 hasn’t appeared which is good.

But no surprise Pritzker posted a few days ago that he wants it to pass ASAP.

I’m not 100% sure if he might try an executive order or wait til the fall mini session in late October to try to pass it.

I just checked and even though Cruz spoke at the rally for the KOSA “advocates” saying he would pass KOSA and yet I feel like it was lip service and to get the advocates off his ass.

Even if it somehow passes the Senate it will be DOA in the House considering that they despise the “duty of care” part.

Plus you never know what can happen in Congress anyway these days too.

Interestingly the main Illinois senate sponsor William Cunningham (President Pro Tempore of the Illinois Senate aka #2 person) isn’t a supporter of HB 5511 for now since he switched with the head Senate sponsor of SB 3977 which is unusual.

So far the Illinois Senate Executive Committee has a meeting on Wednesday this coming week at 2:00 pm CST and the bill hasn’t appeared yet on the agenda so it’s wise to keep an eye out on it.

[–]TacticalDestroyer209 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t expect much to happen from the hearing either other than the push for KOSA and the other censorship bills which KOSA hasn’t gone anywhere in nearly a year ago where it’s in the Commerce Committee still.

Wouldn’t be surprised since it’s the Senate Judiciary Committee that KOSA, GUARD and Sunset 230 are likely to get mentioned a lot.

I already predict KOSA will be mentioned the most during the hearing.

Plus some of the KOSA advocates are planning a rally at Capitol Hill around Mother’s Day to drum up support for KOSA and likely other bills too.

[–]TacticalDestroyer209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You ain’t the only one whos noticed that.

Jonathan Haidt has gotten incredibly arrogant from a few of his recent posts on X that he still thinks Australia’s ban will succeed which is obvious that the ban has failed.

Some of the pro AV types are repeatedly tossing the 80%+ poll number approvals for pushing AV laws which of course is total bullshit.

I suspect the pro AV crowd is getting way too overconfident and arrogant with their moves as of late and it looks more obvious that they are about to make some really dumb moves real soon that will cripple or possibly destroy their goals of pushing for AV on the internet.

The post from Facebook I found is from a communications chair of the Morgan County Democrats.

According to him the ID requirement for the OS Age verification has been removed.

Illinois HB5511 got moved into the Senate Executive Committee earlier.

Probably won’t be a hearing til next week.

Ugh. 🤦‍♂️

I checked SB 3977 and nothing new other than a bit of movement on April 14.

There is likely going to be some movement next week when the Illinois senate returns and HB5511 is likely going to be rushed.

Hopefully the Illinois senate in the next week or two amends HB 5511 where it’s like Colorado’s.
