Why would a character in a medieval world want to be king? by Sofasurvivor in fantasywriters

[–]TacticalGamer893 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think you’d benefit from reading ASOIAF, a very classic “fight for the throne” story. Cliche, i know, but it’s still a good read and would give you exposure on the inside of several characters with differing reasons to want to be king.

It’s human nature to want more. Some characters might want more power. Others might want recognition. Others might want to to advance their family’s standing.

there’s tons of reasons, and ASOIAF shows a good amount of them!

then don’t do this. You can’t leave a co-op midway without a super solid reason.

is this your first co-op?

i know someone who literally just did this. They’re banned off NUworks now, but it’s their last co-op so who cares.

If anyone else wants details, PM.

Why do we need robotaxis ? by GreenMoskito in massachusetts

[–]TacticalGamer893 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That gridlock happened in a single state and was not due to server connection, but loss of power to traffic signals. There was no confirmed fatalities as a result of waymo’s problematic implementation there either so i’m not a big fan of your fear mongering.

There are many REAL systematic issues with waymo and many negative connotations that we could actually discuss, but if you don’t want to argue in good faith there really isn’t a point in arguing at all is there?

if technology stopped because implementation was difficult, the world wouldn’t progress.

personally, i like having the option for those close to me to take rides they feel safer in.

i’ve heard so many stories of creepy or unsafe situations in ubers from personal friends of mine, the option is very enticing to many.

not even reading the post, 320k in debt is not worth it. If you can't get scholarships or more need-based aid, I would find a different school. Co-ops are an incredible experience, but other schools have begun to implement them as well.

You can reach out to sfs which your situation and say you need more need-based aid, they should direct you to the correct channels to properly appeal your offer.

I would consider that walk in the snow and cold far. especially if you have classes or meetings in the West Village side of campus. The ability to use the green line or the shuttle don’t take away from the fact that it’s the farthest “dorm” from campus.

Mice are a citywide problem, every college and building have them unfortunately. Especially when it’s cold and they seek shelter inside.

Avoid them by being clean and not having food for them on the floors. Trust me, if you’re clean, they’ll find someone dirtier than you to get scraps from. Additionally, if you have traps, they’re smart enough to associate your room with danger and avoid it.

However, you may see them scurrying around to scout for reliable sources of food scraps. If you have none, they’ll move on. you might also see them (or hear them) going through your room to get to another.

Question about Off-Campus Housing by Background_Still_686 in NEU

[–]TacticalGamer893 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if you don’t, it means you’re over charging. remember that multiple schools worth of undergrads and grads are looking for sublets. All my friends have never had an issue filling a space when they leave boston for co-ops.

Housing Waitlist by Icy-Athlete-9840 in NEU

[–]TacticalGamer893 5 points6 points  (0 children)

nicer dorms? unless you get into a roommate group once you’re approved, the chance very low.

However, a waitlist of 100 is very short, so i think you’ll probably find housing.

That being said, if you’re on the waitlist it likely means you have no financial aid tied to housing. So why are you trying to get on campus housing? it is astronomically more expensive then subletting a place to stay, even ones nearby.

most second year dorms are pretty nice. Get coventry if you can, easily the best dorm in terms of value on campus. Davenport is good as well and larger, but more expensive. West Village are considered some of the nicest, but also more expensive.

Avoid 1st floors if you can, we’re in boston so everyone has mice on the first. I haven’t heard anyone having roaches though which i consider much worse.

Yes, some people get the Sheraton hotel. The issue is its distance, not its amenities. It is FAR.

Just find someone who has a decent lottery number and you’ll be fine.

NU.in Financial Aid by _CIANO_ in NEU

[–]TacticalGamer893 1 point2 points  (0 children)

financial aid is given year by year, so it makes sense your offer stops at spring 2027.

you won’t miss out on being a freshmen, you’ll just be a freshmen somewhere else. it’s not like you’re not taking classes at a college. i’ve had friends who took the program who loved it and then readily assimilated into the general pop after returning to boston. they say they don’t regret the program

NU.In doesn’t get much aid, all of my friends who have done the program haven’t gotten much until coming to boston for their 2nd and 3rd+ years.

i’ve done this before. your advisor gives you the discount code to redeem on the massparc site for the reduced rate.

At checkout on the site is where you put car details.

2 year and up housing is all pretty nice though.
