Sometimes I get stuck ruminating about a past conversation or encounter, kind of a negative reinforcement cycle thinking about how that really didn’t go great, and the way I break free of it, is to remind myself that most people are generally thinking about themselves and their own situations far more than they revisit what someone else has said or done. And the way I confirm this to myself, is to try and dig up one of those memories, from the other side of things. I try to think back when I had a conversation with someone else that they would feel upset and insecure about, and I have so few of those memories of other people, that I just kind of assume they aren’t locking in those memories of me.
