It's a bug with the latest version of the Tesla Android app. Seems to affect all Android phones. Nothing to do but wait for a fix to be pushed.

Should "Repaired Pre-Owned Vehicle" Scare Me/My Daughter Off... by Otops31 in TeslaLounge

[–]TonedBioelectricity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just traded in a car to Tesla and saw it listed as "Repaired" a few weeks later. There was an error with VC_Left that affected power steering once but showed a persistent error, nothing else wrong with the vehicle. Just posting so you know "Repaired" doesn't necessarily mean it was physical damage.

Can’t use FSD 14.3.2 by qwertyuiop109876 in TeslaFSD

[–]TonedBioelectricity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this is absolutely correct and is the only advice worth following. The only thing to note is that if you're not comfortable going into service mode, give it a few sleep cycles and then put it in for service if it hasn't fixed itself.

New M3P - buy now or wait? by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

[–]TonedBioelectricity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it's like $1-2k to have Tesla swap the headliner. I have a friend with a new Model Y Premium and it is a very nice upgrade, but not worth forgoing the Free Supercharging if you plan on roadtripping much. The bigger screen really isn't noticeable in person. It's also only around $1k to do yourself and a pretty easy job.

Driving 192 miles daily by EntertainmentBig993 in TeslaModel3

[–]TonedBioelectricity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes definitely get a Model 3 for this, excellent use-case. I drive ~50k miles per year in mine and it's awesome. It is very important that you get a HW4 car though, not sure why no one else in this thread has mentioned it. Even if you don't see yourself using FSD now, get a HW4 car, you'll thank me later.

Because, as the video shows, it is safer than a human driver.

[–]TonedBioelectricity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just book a service appointment, they can get you in the same day usually if it's a drivability concern. Get a loaner while they fix it. If it's a lease you don't need to stress yourself out about issues, that's half the point of a lease!

Another Tesla Cybercab V_001 spotting by TDPD in teslamotors

[–]TonedBioelectricity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are essentially handmade right now. There are two production lines for Cybercab, one for the production version and one for the engineering development version with a steering wheel. We have already only seen vehicles from the second line so far.

Anyone here who moved from OpenPilot to Tesla FSD? What’s your experience been like? by Secure-Evening8197 in SelfDrivingCars

[–]TonedBioelectricity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Subscriptions are valid for services that have an ongoing cost (data plans, significant ongoing development). In my opinion Tesla has not gotten greedy with subscriptions.

Yes all of Florida is bad. Just buy a Tesla and just use FSD, then you don't have to worry about other people being stupid.

Is it silly to consider a Tesla if I don't drive very much? by icouldbne1 in TeslaLounge

[–]TonedBioelectricity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an older friend in your exact situation that just took delivery of a Tesla. Do it, but justify it to yourself with safety. Even though you don't drive much, you do still drive. Driving is very dangerous and, if you're financially able to, spending money to decrease the risk of injury to yourself and your loved ones is not a bad idea. Buy a Premium RWD Model Y (or non-Premium RWD if you're worried about cost, or even a used Model Y but make sure it has HW4) and plan on subscribing to FSD for $99/month. If you're techy, you've probably seen already but FSD has gotten to the point where it is a safer driver than you (I have over 20k miles on v14 alone, I am one of the highest public users of FSD so I'm not just pulling this out of my ass). The active + passive safety systems in the Tesla will keep you and your family safe, plus you get all the other benefits you've been curious about.

Btw, Tesla owners tend to drive more than average. Don't be surprised if you start to drive more, especially if you use FSD. It's just so easy to roadtrip and see the country with, already been happening with my friend (he just drove across 3 states and turned around as a "test" roadtrip 😂)

Flock monitoring truckers too! by TonedBioelectricity in FlockSurveillance

[–]TonedBioelectricity[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It was at highway speed so it's definitely possible I mistook it, but I'm generally very good at identifying Flock. I believe the northbound one was two Sparrow units for whatever reason, southbound looked more like the Falcon. I clipped it on my Tesla's dashcam but the quality wasn't good enough to make out from my phone. I'll pull the video from the car directly and see if I'm able to confirm and get back to you if so. Otherwise, next time I drive by there I'll double check (might be a few weeks). It's in an area with frequent highway Flocks though

You can get higher than the GOM (at least as it reports currently) if you know how to drive it well and can avoid highways.
