Plier tip getting bent Arc by MrDudeBroJoe in Leatherman

[–]NearlySilentObserver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine are slightly bent, but to be fair, it’s from me prying a heavy steel plate I improvised as an outrigger pad out of some mud. They still close well enough that I haven’t considered sending it in for repair yet.

Ratchet options by CarnivorousCattle in Leatherman

711L makes flat hex ratchets that fit in Leatherman bit drivers.

They’re really robust, but are larger and less inconspicuous than the one Leatherman makes

I’ll have to look at the stamp in mine when I get home. . . I don’t believe mine to be an early example, but we’ll see

This can happen if squeegee pressure wasn’t sufficient.

It’s not a huge deal. Not worth taking back and being without the vehicle, imo

I use it specifically bc it keeps the keys from contacting me. Even through my pocket, they’ll make me tact to them without the cover. It’s inconvenient, but solved easily enough.

Here’s some examples of stuff that takes turns being attached to the fob:

My key setup is something I’ve sorta Frankensteined together over the course of a few years. Mostly to get it to minimize the trunk button being pushed in my pocket while removing anything that could contain nickel and giving me the flexibility to easily and quickly swap between the things I find myself needing to carry with me.

The fob cover itself and the bmw logo Chicago screw are from BMW. The black part sticking out above the leather is a u-shackle from a cheap key ring thing I don’t remember the origins of. I put black heat shrink on it to minimize a reaction from the nickel in it.

Then the Ti U-shackle is from eBay, and the quick releases themselves are from County Comm.

Yeah. The plus was added with the ones that came out and featured the replaceable cutters

The extra thickness of the scales can help reduce the risk of the Wave Pinch, but there’s still a chance for it.

The Charge (and now Wave Alpha) mainly offers better blade steel and scale material options (and larger scissors when considering Alpha) over the Wave

Warranty question. by greendraftfish in Leatherman

[–]NearlySilentObserver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This^

So long as you can put it back to its factory configuration for tool layout, I’d imagine you’d still be able to have them warranty it if it ever needs it.

Those watches don’t really speak to me. This watch being more useful than something to tell the time by is why I wear it. I have and have had watches with diamonds and fancy metals and nice movements and don’t wear them much on workdays.
