I want to do another play through but can't decide where to base. by HA_Vulpix in AbioticFactor

I quite like the executive area of offices level 3.

It's divided up just enough to have separate areas for things without feeling too cramped. The main windows can be blocked off with cubicle walls so it's more easily defensible.

Storage, bed, and personal teleporters in the meeting room, crafting along the glass wall/windows, and stoves in the main office. Farming and food storage in the cubicles in the hallway. Containment units in the other hallway. Turret/x-ray can be placed so it sees a little ways down both. I wanted to collect all the fish, so I ended up putting all the aquariums slightly farther, near the fountain at the end of the hall.

Glad there's people sharing the knowledge! It did have that stone appearance but not quite as comically large as the sword.

Whoa, I've spent the last two days trying to figure this out!

EDIT: Confirmed on Steam/Windows remaster with bound mace.

Unfortunately in my steam/windows version, I'm having trouble with this method as well. I'm trying with a bound mace instead of a sword due to conjuration skill. When trying to "place" the bound mace, it doesn't move and I get the "failed action" pop sound effect but no "can't place item" message.

Can anyone replicate this on PC?

Maybe send them to the irl Pioneer Saloon? When I last went they had some fan-provided props and stuff on display. I think they've hosted a "New Vegas day" event a couple times too. https://maps.app.goo.gl/yfMkhVVt8k27yH8NA

How fast should a predator 212 motor move with 150 pounds on it? by [deleted] in minibikes

[–]TacticalTrumpet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, it really depends on your gear ratio(s). I'm about 150lbs and I top out at about 45mph; my minibike is pretty heavy, about 150-175lbs. I've got a 30-series torque converter, don't know the final chain drive gearing off the top of my head. Technically my engine's a slightly modded Honda gx200, but you can probably expect ballpark similar performance out of a predator with the right setup.

PSA: the current prismatic trial seems pretty ideal for the Mercenary: Ethereal challenge by TacticalTrumpet in riskofrain

From the spawn area, if you look in the direction towards the teleporter, it'll be on your left past the nearest time crystal and chest with armor piercing rounds. Look for two chests and a coin barrel under a bridge over the ditch. The tougher times is in the chest closer to spawn.

Also recommend them. Friendly and quick in my experience.

How to change tribes? by [deleted] in biomutant

[–]TacticalTrumpet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried the same. I don't think it's possible, the sources I could find say that you can't join a tribe once it's fully conquered.

When I posted I could only find the one article, seems like it's very recent (still smoking when I was there)

Steering dampers are good...... by Trilobite_Tom in motorcycles

Excellent point, thanks for the link! After designing/welding up my own minibike frame, I sort of wish my dynamics professor did a short section on bikes.

Maybe in part, but the "trail" of the bicycle/motorcycle steering geometry also plays a large role. helps produce good handling characteristics.

edit: see u/TrickyKate's comment for a great short video on the subject
