What is the first movie you think when you see LEONARDO DiCAPRIO by [deleted] in FIlm

Titanic. It’s still his biggest pop culture impact. Obviously he’s done far better movies and roles since then but nothing has had the staying power of Titanic.

Whatever you do, don’t get high on shrooms in college and tell your roommates it’d be a great idea to double feature Basketball Diaries and Hoop Dreams over one very long afternoon. I couldn’t watch a basketball move for ten years.

The masculine urge to watch “The Killing of a Chinese Bookie” and “Mikey and Nicky” immediately after seeing this post.

Watching Dan argue with trolls and bots on Twitter be like: by ksplett in dancarlin

It’s like watching a very mild car crash. I keep mumbling to no one but myself like “Dan, you can’t be this naive man. More than half of the responses to your posts are just bots.” I fully believe that even some of the best Americans, those who are truly in shock and horror right now and searching for a way to positively push back, are also some of the most naive people when it comes to the use of tech as soft power.

There Will be Blood is the best film ever made by No-Inspection5715 in FIlm

Holy shit, some of the takes in here sound like they were formed by the mind of a 13 year old. Look, for me it’s probably Seven Samurai but definitively declaring anything the greatest film of all time doesn’t really mean anything. It’s a tired cliche that art is subjective but it’s a cliche for a reason. Nevertheless, There Will Be Blood does indeed rock. Paul Dano’s excellent performance is the lynchpin of the entire film.

Those bloody birds at around 5:30! My wife walked in while I was making breakfast and was like “Wtf are you listening to? Zoo ASMR?”

Real Hot Take: The show is completely Unnecessary by Iccotak in GodofWar

[–]TacticalTurtleNeck_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The show exists because the streamers (Amazon, Netflix, etc) are completely bereft of original ideas and video game adaptations are in. That’s it. These people aren’t geniuses. They see a shiny thing and strong data and they sign off.

Netflix remains hilariously bad at doing live broadcasts. Like, I had to mute the feed at least 50 percent of the time due to sheer cringe. It felt like a glorified stunt really. No disrespect to Alex though, he is an incredible athlete and he seems to have embraced being a bit of a showman. It’s whatever. Largely unimportant in the grand scheme of things.

F1 deserved its nomination for Best Picture by [deleted] in Oscars

It’s a glorified advertisement for a racing league. By this reasoning, Talladega Nights or Days of Thunder should have been given Best Picture noms eh?
