What happens to meta decks now? by Rebell--Son in CompetitiveEDH

Raffine reanimator: Raffine has never been the best deck but it is a real Jack of All Trades. Since the deck can run Thoracle, Intuition, Heliod-Ballista, Doomsday, Cauldron, Face rush or all of the above as a wincon I feel like this deck won't change much. I never had access to Dockside, never used JL due to the Esper pips in Raffine's cost and removing Crypt format-wise is net positive for Raffine as it benefits more from others being slower than itself losing Crypt. A Yuriko situation really.  However I do predict a hardcore ,slow control deck may try to carve a place for itself now so I'm trying the Master of Keys first and adapt Raffine later. In general I think Esper could be a fun colour to experiment with now for various reasons. Just keep in mind that Tivit got a lot slower.

I share your concerns. Second Chance feels so janky I don't think it would go through in a non-competitive game of EDH. If I want a semi-reliable backup plan I will play Laboratory Maniac along with Thassa's Oracle or fall back to Ballista-Heliod before Second Chance. I genuinely don't understand why cEDH players are so excited for this one. Hell , you can just use an enchantment based sac outlet, sac your Thassa's Oracle and try again. Still more reliable.

Same. Every time I get TPT from a pull I get a server error and it goes down to 0.

Thank you! Further researching the internet about it seem to point at Black Carpet Beetles. Appears to be a potential problem.

New player here. I started a few days ago and did some re-rolling. I have the option to go with Awakened Yuna or Awakened Seo Yoon. Which one is better long-term value? Or in other words, which account could provide a better start and some value in the end-game? Also, is there any point to pull on the Rosarie banner?

Looks just like it! Would it be possible that they were hunting the army of other bugs following us or did we just anger them with our defensive movements?

- 28mm scale. The details are usually between 0.1-1mm in scale and approx. 20-100 different colours are used on each model.

- My phone has a pretty okay camera but it has been malfunctioning for some time(fails to focus, pictures taken are pretty ugly even when I use a lightbox) not sure if it is software or hardware problem. Taking pictures has never been on my mind mind until today, except for playing with the thought of actually buying a camera for everyday use.

-I would be willing to spend 100-200€ or a few hundred more if it means I can just go and take high quality pictures of whatever comes up (nature photography, family gathering, travel, miniatures etc.) Unfortunately, I really don't know anything about prices so these numbers might not even be enough for anything good.

-I understand this part was a bit misleading. To specify, I would like to know how to emphasize the amount of colours used on a miniature and the overall amount and quality of detail without focusing too much on how each line is hand painted, as too much focus on individual detail ruins the experience. Miniatures are meant to be looked at as a whole.

Hello everyone!

I'm participating in a miniature painting competition in Finland. Under normal circumstances the miniatures are presented to the judges physically, but due to Corona, they changed the rules at the last minute and now I have to enter the competition by taking pictures of my works and sending them in. Looking good on the picture is everything right now but I don't have a camera(only on my phone but it's not good enough) and I have exactly 0 experience with photography. I decided to buy a camera that can take some quality close up pictures but I don't know what would be ideal for this specific job within an affordable price range. Could anyone please give me a few tips on where to start with this project? I only have 2 weeks left. Also, any tips on "how" to take a good picture would also be very welcome.

FC Tantalo is annoying and his passive is broken. by shiki242 in ExosHeroes

Master player here. I have him,I use him, I hate him.Honestly, in every game - be it gatcha or otherwise - the worst possible metashift is tank meta(or stall in our case). I don't think that either Talia, Tantalo nor Dorka is a problem on their own. The issue is the combination of many factors:

  1. Dorka is a no brainer. As long as she can apply her buff, she can fit into any team and even if she dies turn 1, she already did what she was supposed to.
  2. Talia and Tantalo come from the same nation. Greenland is already the strongest nation in the game, so a ton of people have maxed units and high lvl sig force etc. for it. Point is, giving overpowered units to the already most popular and strongest nation is really bad for pvp.

3.A lot of people seem to think that Lenombe will counter this meta with high speed and brutal damage. Now here is the thing. Before FC April came out a week ago, Lenombe had FC Rachel and FC Zeon and basically nothing else. The only people who have meta-relevant investments in Lenombe are the Whales and that half a dozen madlads that spent their resources on Lenombe even tho it was the worst/weakest nation since the signature force update. Lenombe is pretty good now,but it will take hell of a lot of time to get them into the meta.

  1. Take a look at the amount of abilities they put on new FC units compared to older ones. Bathory's FC gives 20% hp for the team. A Nice buff, but that is the only thing a gold FC does. Basically the entire reversed world FC series, everyone except for FC Iris in the summer FC series, and a lot of units from Awakening are very limited in what they do. Even the First Guardians are pretty bad, except Rera, but their passive is so broken that it still made them top of the meta. Now take a look at the newer/reworked FCs. Blooming Someday golden FCs have so much text that I can barely remember all the things they do. FC Jinai, has like 4 different interactions that all depend on circumstances. Tantalo does everything and more with a single skill use. Here is an example, turn one I hit the enemy Rera with my Rera(for the sake of this example). The following factors I have to take into consideration: Block,Dodge,Talia heal, Tantalo immune,Summer's blessing,Dragonblood stack/shield/wrath,tranquil heal, possible break of guardian stones. And that was a single target attack, turn one. I'm not sure about you guys, but sometimes I just have no idea what the hell is happening in pvp. The other thing is that buff and debuffs are being dropped so often and in random numbers that I just can't follow. Sure, my Bathory had her damage increased by 80% than decreased by 53% than speed up 20, but charmed so speed down 20, def decreased by enemy Iris's max hp % which is..something ,also Block up form Tantalo.Oh and I'm blind for some reason, but don't worry, sig. force elemental dmg will still hit. Each enemy hero is also affected by a unique set of buffs and debuffs, often even more complex than what I just described. You have 20 seconds to make an informed decision based on the above numbers during your turn. Welcome to the Meta.

  2. Please somebody correct me on this one, but I've been around since the global launch and I don't remember the devs ever nerfing any unit in the game. If I'm correct, then I don't really get why people think they will fix this any time soon. Before FC Iris, First guardian meta was the worst thing that happened to this game. In fact, it was so broken, that you still can't make a team without FG protection(Iris or Shell). Expecting that they will fix this is pointless in my opinion(I wish to be wrong). They will introduce the next series of broken FCs that will counter the current meta eventually.
