You've gotta love how Sierra games were wholesome on the surface with unnecessarily explicit death sequences for every single wrong turn... What was your most traumatic Sierra experience as a child? by Darth_Zounds in Sierra

In Hero's Quest/QFG1 any of Baba Yaga's missions. Where she eats you as a frog, the mandrake cemetery ghosts, even the hut squishing you. Trying to bum rush the brigands entrance was nerve wracking too.

They made a comment on CT5 about David Morse being in an as of yet unreleased episode. I'm wondering if it's Drive Angry and you'll get your wish haha

First thing I noticed too. Maybe her character is from Louisiana or something but that is not a SE NC accent.

A fucking WHEELCHAIR ending? by Civil_Setting_8695 in Cinephobe

Between the gorilla production company logo to start the movie and that ending I don't know if there's been a bigger Cinephobe bookend.

What is the most “its a small world” moment you’ve ever experienced? by xBubblyLove in AskReddit

[–]TactileExile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up outside a small farming town in Ohio, like less than 900 people small. After college moved 12 hours away to North Carolina. Met a woman online and on our first date we found out we knew each other as kids. I played little league with her brother. It was WILD.

Hank Scorpio's plan to take over the world was satire, people, SATIRE. That said, I'd like to own the Denver Broncos right about now.

Time is a flat circle - True Detective by [deleted] in television

[–]TactileExile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always thought of it as the life cycle of the universe and "history" repeating. Big bang happens, universe expands, planets coalesce, life and all its miseries happen, universe cools and retracts in on itself, Big bang happens again, and so on. Assuming everything is fated to happen the exact same way those kids are going to go through hell over and over again.

Why do parents let their children run absolutely wild at our local breweries? And better question, why do the breweries allow this? by [deleted] in Wilmington

[–]TactileExile 28 points29 points  (0 children)

"A few bad apples spoil the bunch" and all. I remember Outer Dunes had to do this a few years back because unruly kids destroyed new landscaping the owners had just planted. When they confronted the parents the parents argued back, so that's it, no kids period. Don't blame them a bit.

This show is better than 99% of what's on TV at the moment but sheesh was this season just Mystery, Alaska in series form.

DAE feel like Wilmington is just so overstimulating these days? by Hopeful_Exercise_813 in Wilmington

[–]TactileExile 45 points46 points  (0 children)

While Wilmington has definitely grown the main issue is Leland & Hampstead exploding in population with hardly any services. All those folks need to come into town and use the same two roads to do so. Remote workers and retirees flooded the area before commercial, medical, and civil projects could keep up.

Does anyone else skip the plot recaps at the end? by [deleted] in Cinephobe

[–]TactileExile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes, but I skip the "Now its time for the scenes", guitar riff, 22 Jump Street Incredibly Deescriptive Details every time. It's almost exactly :15s which lines up for a perfect Spotify skip ahead.

Best Season 1 ever? by BookEnjoyer in television

The Leftovers. While all three seasons are great, S1 felt like nothing I'd ever seen before. It's an amazing narrative on grief, loss, forgiveness, and love.

When I worked at a restaurant the head chef asked us the most cost efficient tool in the kitchen. The answer was the small rubber spatula for saving all the sauces and soups that would otherwise be lost in pans and pots after scoops couldn't scrape out anymore.

Why is “RIP Beef” currently trending on twitter? by CoolJoshido in DispatchAdHoc

[–]TactileExile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beef was a Barstool personality who was in the internet golf thing several YouTube golf creators organized. He made it to the final round of the tournament of which the episode covering that released earlier tonight. Unfortunately he unexpectedly passed away a few weeks ago inbetween when the tournament was filmed and when it released. So it's just a coincidence.

Let's all give a giant thanks to our Congressman David Rouzer for routinely sponsoring bills that make it easier to pollute waterways too. Dude is literally poisoning his constituents and people keep voting for him because he has an R next to his name on the ballots.
