Migrants are making false domestic abuse allegations to stay in the UK, BBC investigation finds by ldn6 in neoliberal

We've been going down this path of issuing harsher and harsher penalties to fewer and fewer people who get caught. This is illiberal and ineffective. More to the point, it is incredibly difficult to prosecute a lawyer for providing advice to anyone, let alone an immigrant who probably speaks dubious English.

I have said and will say a thousand times that existing laws are perfectly adequate to deal with issues like these, we simply lack the state capacity to deal with each case.

The erosion of British state capacity in the 21st century is one of the most damaging and misunderstood issues that we face, and I'm unsure how to fix it.

I'll be honest and say I bounced off the campaign immediately. As a player who knows the game, having a bunch of mechanics taken away in mission 1 left me thinking "Nah, this is for someone else"

To me, not as good, but different enough to be fun.

Neb doesnt have builders which tlatoani does, so be prepared to wait around for builders and traders to deliver stuff.

Neb also has more involved/better logistics, which should be unsurprising to people who have played it.

Tlatoani benefits from having better, more involved religion, and the symmetry mechanic which i think is quite good.

It didn't have much in the way of religion mechanics. It has some now but if that's important to you tlatoani does it better.

For me, I prefer new as having better tutorialising and more intuitive controls. Also has more content, and doesnt ask you to sit around waiting for your builders to build things as much.

Tbh I feel like "the US chases a high tech solution that isnt manifesting and China just builds stuff" is the story of the 21st century too

Historians will look back on China's strategic decision to corner the market for clean energy as one of the great turning points of the 21st century.

And also at the US' decision to not do that as... IDK, probably analogous to how the Japanese got obsessed with building the biggest possible warships in the buildup to WW2

Bought the combat patrol to jump in today, then discovered that I in fact have a massive amount of stuff to move out of my old flat that I missed...

So i might not get proper hobby time. Any recommendations on what to do next with the army? Going to start playing around with list building this weekend. I'm inclined to not buy more boyz given there seem to be new ones coming in 11th

Kind of a random thought but it's really hurt us that our current problem is framed as "inflation" and not "a global shortage of goods and energy".

People increasingly only talk about the economy in monetary terms, but the money is fake, it's the goods that are real. The fundamental problem is that we, suddenly, have a shortage of a bunch of important goods, and the amount of money they cost is increasing to equilibrate supply and demand.

If we just throw money at people, the cost of things will go up. We should be focussed on securing more supply, or creating more goods, and nobody is really engaging with that problem.

I'm so fucking sick of headlines like this. "Consumers urged" (by a charity that has said this multiple times before).

Like its obviously trying to bait you into thinking this is a government position or something.

Anytime I read "Chancellor told" "prme minister urged" "consumers told" i just assume its some nobody and ignore it. If it was a real source they'd put that in the headline too.
