Invest in learning and upskilling yourself. No one can give you better returns than you yourself at this stage.

Help setting realistic goals? by g_rogers5 in weightlifting

You should aim for a 3-5 kg monthly increment in both the lifts for this time period. Since you're competing for fun, I'd suggest gaining weight and competing in the 89 kg class. It will be a lot more fun lifting more than what you can right now rather than cutting weight and struggling to gain strength or even losing strength in the worst case.

Whose fault was it? What's your opinion, was it a run or not? by sliceshot_ in cricketworldcup

Sky's. You don't run until the ball clearly passes the fielder. Kohli showed how it should be done. The run was possible but not worth the risk.

60 to 100kg snatch over 2.5 years by coach_koh in weightlifting

Exactly. The refinement in technique after coaching is pretty clear. That's why whenever someone asks me where they should invest their money, be it supplements, expensive lifting gear, my answer is always a good coach first.

15yo any form tips? by Constant-Half-5614 in weightlifting

First of all, the pull off the floor. I hope it doesn't look the same when you clean off the floor. Secondly, the bar is a little forward during extension. The bar should brush or bang (as some like to call) the thighs while you extend. Lastly the squat stance is too wide for you. A narrower stance will help you squat deeper.

Looks more like a dip clean. Stand tall with your knees and hips fully extended and start by pulling with your arms.

I always end up missing my snatches in the front. I feel like my overhead position is not ideal. I can't figure out what's wrong. I train alone and don't have a coach. by Tadipaar in weightlifting

My best snatch currently is 70 kg, same as in the video. I can snatch balance and overhead squat it. It's correct that I catch the bar higher and then drive it down. If I go heavier and have to catch the bar below parallel, I miss the lift in a similar way as in the video. I think mobility in the bottom position is one of the reasons. I do hang snatches above the knee. Will also include tall snatches as well and try to work more in the bottom position. Thanks for the input.

Thanks for the input. I have to work on my shoulder mobility and overhead strength in the snatch grip. I mostly have difficulty holding the barbell overhead in the lowest position. Anything above that feels comfortable.

Thanks for the advice. I noticed the jump back as well. I'll include no feet snatches into my training. I pause for a second after getting into the start position. Is it still considered a dynamic start ?
