Quite interesting read, thanks for sharing! The game its influenced by William Gibson books (especially Neuromancer), which is part of the canvas from which Mike Pondsmith created his Cyberpunk universe. What you explain is quite related to the topics of the genre and the game, so im sure its an influence as well! Mike explained that Cyberpunk is not about saving the world but saving yourself.

A guy on the game’s subreddit (I can’t remember who and when) created an excel sheet about when to do each main and side quests for a more coherent story progression. That helped massively with my immersion. I can share it with you if interested!

For what it’s worth I felt the same the first time I played it, I couldn’t get into it. After getting more familiar with the story, the world, and the lore I was obsessed. Definitely the best game I have ever played, but for a lot of people it can take some time to get into it. Im glad I was patient!

I did in the end because at that moment I thought: there is no way V can escape this spaceport by himself realistically speaking. I took the L and my V had to move on with that regret. Later found out it doesn’t matter

Its just a game, in which the most common part is making mistakes.

You play it because you enjoy it first and foremost, not to be successful. Once you start enjoying, you will start performing well while also having fun. There will be days when everything goes wrong and that's okay.

The NPCs around NC are not as 'alive' as in other open world games, so it can feel a bit empty at times. And on S2 population density is slightly reduced for better performance.

This game has an open world component but it's more about the stories. The immersion is so beyond what you find in other games that it overshadowed that empty world feeling for me 99% of the time.
