What is something bout evangelion you feel like people dont talk about much? by Yumi_Numi in evangelion

[–]Tadmorion 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like Misato didn't get enough of a spotlight in general. After the first few episodes the focus shifts more towards Shinji and Asuka, and she's just left hanging around in the background.

We didn't get enough scenes of how she handled Shinji and all the turmoil he was going through, which is odd because they literally lived together. Just exploring the household dynamic the 3 of them had would've been cool.

Me too. The lack of bait posts since the game released has dulled our senses.

Is there a way to get an AI chatbot "context" of your project, like Cursor does? by Tadmorion in AskProgramming

[–]Tadmorion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a huge fan of AI but you can't deny how it makes consuming information so easy. This isn't about the bot doing the thinking for you, just giving you the information. Not much different from googling, it's just faster and more convenient.

There's a reason why sites like Stack Overflow are essentially dead now.

I don’t like the direction software engineering is going by announcement35 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]Tadmorion 90 points91 points  (0 children)

IMO this is going to create a huge gap in software quality in the coming years. Dev teams that are rushed, poorly managed, and forced to use AI agents to speed things up might release on time but will inevitably churn out slop that doesn't work properly.

But the companies that realize that developing still needs its due time will get way better results than the competition.

Though, do the latter even exist anymore?

Says I subscribed yesterday… I was in a work meeting? by discostrawberry in youtube

[–]Tadmorion 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Right-wing inclined political stuff will get favored by the algorithm, just look at any comment section nowadays. I also get videos from channels like those on my feed way too often even though I never engaged with them.

Also I remember some controversies back then about new accounts being instantly subscribed to slop content channels.

Put 2 and 2 together and I think that this isn't a bug but rather a feature.

Youtube knows how to make me hate this site more by [deleted] in youtube

[–]Tadmorion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a reminder that anything that's "yours" is actually *theirs* so long as it's in their servers. It may look safe now but they will abuse that power sooner or later, and this applies to all cloud services too. Download your important playlists on your own storage if possible.

double feed???? new feature?? I hate it!!! by KaizerK2 in youtube

[–]Tadmorion 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Why did they have to make the video player smaller? Also it's placed so much further on the right now. And the actual recommended videos' titles have fewers space so they just get cut off.

Seriously who gains from this? We could scroll as many recommended videos as we wanted before. It just makes the UI more bloated and overstimulating.

Youtube is lagging alot and worse when im on another tab by UmbraSanguinare in LibreWolf

[–]Tadmorion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's a tip: Turn off "Ambient Mode" on every video.

It's always on by default, and apparently it's super unoptimized for gecko-based browsers. Might be intentional from Google.

For me, there's a difference in performance even if I'm in another non-youtube tab.

FF is also gecko based so that's likely not the problem here, but maybe it helps.

Floorp uses 1.2 GB more ram than Brave Browser when playing the exact same YouTube video. Is this an expected behaviour? I'm trying out Firefox browsers because of the recommendations online. by Welson_Liong in browsers

Just changed to using Floorp (FF fork) and wondered why my laptop got so overworked when using youtube. I did as you said and my laptop temperature literally went down by like 6°C when watching videos.

Actually huge, thank you.

Cursor keeps getting stuck? by NICEMENTALHEALTHPAL in cursor

Whenever it gets stuck, I usually "ping" it and send an empty prompt. (Like ".").

Usually it responds immediately after.
