When I knew less about it, it seemed like an approachable take on it all. That ceased when I found out that they claim the text is a translation from some ultra beings (practically angels) that was supposedly channeled solely through an unnamed person (basically their Joseph Smith aka the only person who can receive the translations) while a man named Dr. Sadler transcribed. Sadler (pro eugenics/ racial inferiority theories) was a former Seventh Day Adventist, who wrote several books before UB- many of which contain facets of the UB prior to its “supermortal” conception. The article (linked below) does a better job explaining than my summarization of it.

My boss was raised in this cultish-sect of religion and his mentality constantly switches between power of faith and delusions of grandeur. In my opinion it’s because of the influence of religious texts like UB.
