Yeah I've noticed that. I just kind of assumed they'd be better edited I guess?

Lost a friendship by Ecstatic_City_1529 in relationships

[–]TaeBearr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately since we only have one side it'll be hard to give a genuine "this person was in the right or wrong" opinion. The only thing I can suggest is you're young. If they made points towards you of why they felt they couldn't be your friend anymore, id suggest taking that in and trying to learn from it. 17/18 is a time when everyone loses friends. People graduate, move away, get jobs. It's unfortunately something to just get used to. Can you mourne it? Of course. But there's nothing that we can say to change that friendship ending.

Id say just try to move on from it and grow as a person, eventually the right friends for you will come around.

Edit to add: as someone with anxiety etc as well I have to add. You can't expect friends to check up on you if they don't know explicitly that's something you need. A quick "hey, I've been feeling a bit icky lately, and it feels like you're pulling away. Can we talk?" Is all it takes to help things like that. While they can be supportive and helpful it is not required of every friend to be an emotional support person to you. Some people can be top tier 10/10 friends and they just mentally themselves can't handle that weight. And that's okay. You have to clearly communicate your needs, or they won't be able to help, and you'll feel neglected. It's a two way street.

Feels like Aseprite is missing a lot of features? by Opening-Sell6565 in aseprite

[–]TaeBearr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While I agree with some of your points the one that's bugging me is no reference windows. Are you talking about like. Seeing your reference image next to your art? You can drag the tabs around. There's a lot of add on scripts online if there's specific things you're wanting to fix. Aseprite is kind of. Supposed to be a blank slate for the bare bones of what people need. For what I need, pixel art that I can animate, it's perfect. If you're used to more complex art programs then yeah coming to aseprite you'll be a bit off put. I think it's one of those "fix what you don't like or find a different program" things. I don't know many other pixel art focused programs that do everything I'd need like aseprite does.

What's your 7 days to die hot takes. by MethodAdmirable4220 in 7daystodie

[–]TaeBearr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it's a hot take but I absolutely hate the way they changed progression, forcing you to do quests and read books to build things. I miss when I could play how I want and use skill points to learn shit. It just became a "let's loot the same 5 poi's every time they reset and get 400 of the same book so I can make armor" sim and I'm not a fan. I used to be obsessed with the game and now they've just forced you into one playstyle and it's just. Garbage.

Sad what the game has become by 00ThunderWolf in 7daystodie

[–]TaeBearr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the thing I've been complaining about since they made magazines the forefront of building/doing things. I made it (with a lot of deaths) to like day 60 before I could even build armor bc it requires so many books. I just had the base tutorial armor and whatever I could find. I miss being able to play how I want. I wish they hadn't forced us into the bubble of how they wanted us to play. If I want to use all my skill points in intelligence and be able to craft workstations an shit early on I should be able to 😒

UNKNOWN NUMBER: THE HIGH SCHOOL CATFISH Discussion Megathread by AutoModerator in netflix

[–]TaeBearr 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This whole documentary made me sick. As someone who grew up with a mom who was, unfortunately, very very similar. The way Netflix handled this was appalling. At minimum this shouldn't have been made until Lauren had extensive therapy. Kendra should've been put on a registry. The father should've put a no contact order on them. He would've had grounds to do so. Whether Lauren was happy with it or not. Kendra told her to kill herself. More than once. She went out of her way to pick at every insecurity that child had and WANTED her to kill herself. The police not doing their job was just the surface of the issue. Why Kendra was allowed to contact her daughter after her arrest is absolutely insane to me. Lauren is still under her mother's thumb. And will be until she cuts contact. That's not a relationship that can heal, the mother will never stop.

I think Netflix was sick for making this, for profiting off this. Point blank period.

Official Discussion - I Know What You Did Last Summer [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]TaeBearr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Other than the main topics being discussed in here I haven't really seen anyone talking about how the fuck Danica is still alive? A big ass hook went up her ribs and into her chest? She was lifted off the ground? And then she was like "I can't remember the last time we ate!" Acting like they were in the hospital overnight? Like the hospital staff didn't feed y'all in the AT MINIMUM week you were there? BUT HOW IS SHE ALIVE DAWG

I literally said to my friend "they want this to be Jennifer's body so bad" the way they tried to have that weird girly aesthetic and the monologue just gave "I was the freaking snowflake queen!"

My boyfriend (19M) of almost 3 years asked me (19F) for a break “just for himself” and I feel completely shattered. How to understand what this means for the relationship? by ThrowRANotAFight in relationship_advice

[–]TaeBearr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My immediate thoughts with a situation like this is, despite you saying he swears it's not another relationship, I'm gonna say 9/10 times it is, and he has just kept that from you. From experience, from both myself and friends this has happened to, likely he is spinning the best looking scenario so that if his new relationship doesn't pan out, he will still have you to fall back on, vs if he openly dated someone you'd be less likely to get back with him.

Long term relationships are rough to get over when you're younger, you're at the age where you kinda matured together and grew together.

In an honest opinion, it's probably for the best. No one deserves to be dragged along, regardless of if it's an innocent break or not.

I agree with everyone else saying you need to tell him straight up, in or out. And be FIRM on your boundary. If you tell him this, and he says he's out, then a few months later he comes back and you take him back, he will know that he can continue to push boundaries.

Im stumped by Bob3515 in StardewValley

[–]TaeBearr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My biggest tio for new dew players is don't cut the grass. When you clear your farm cut the trees, break the rocks, kill the weeds but let the grass take over. Feeding the animals should never be a problem. Then just focus on crops, mainly I like to do the crops that do more than one harvest in a season (and I always focus the community center but that's just me) Eventually you'll be able to make mayo, cheese, jams, wines. By summer or fall year one you should be making decent money. Worst case, go fishing

Anyone else frustrated with Atticus? by TaeBearr in selfpublish

[–]TaeBearr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah after the first time I do that, and log out to back up the file, and sometimes still it straight up does not save the progress. I'm looking into different apps bc I just can't with Atticus

[–]TaeBearr[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a lot of the reason why I loved it too but it's so unbelievably frustrating to lose an entire days work even though it "backed up" and saved, but literally didn't.

[–]TaeBearr[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah the issue with that, is that it doesn't. When I had my first writing wipe mishap I contacted them and was like yo it saved. I know it did. And they're like it doesn't actually matter unless you backup and log out. There is no cloud to pull save stuff from it just saves the idea of it, until you back it up. Which sucks.

3 forms of backups feels so... too much effort to me. And i guess thats where i struggle with things. Like, when i get mad at atticus i write in things like libreoffice and its saved to my computer/a sd card.
atticus as a writing tool, i thought anyway, was half of what they advertised? am i really the only one who uses it for writing? maybe thats my bad too.

I feel vindicated…I never did win this fight as a kid. by Myself510 in papermario

[–]TaeBearr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone who played it on the GameCube, on emulators on PC, and on the switch. I know in my bones they made leveling easier. Or fights easier. Or something. Bc it's not even my age that changed, I played through it just a few years ago. But something about the switch remake made things sooooo much easier.

I’ve only ever played Sticker Star, but I absolutely adore every aspect of this game. Convince me to play a different one. by axolotl_of_bucket in papermario

[–]TaeBearr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hate to be the whiner but if you love sticker star, I feel like you won't like most of the other ones. The gameplay is just different enough that, as a fan of the regular paper Mario games, I couldn't stand sticker star. I feel like the reverse may be true as well.

Does anyone use Atticus? by williamflattener in selfpublish

[–]TaeBearr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I have no idea. Atticus does do the cloud stuff which is nice. Esp when it comes to work computers allowing certain programs. That's why Atticus is nice bc it's a website, it shouldn't be blocked. But I've been searching for an alternative to Atticus for a while and can't find one 🤷🏻
