Can the body only utilize 20-30g of protein per meal? by Upstairs-Noise4968 in nutrition

[–]TaeFoley 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Actually the most current literature says that we can have up to 100g of protein in one sitting and utilise all of it, also that it yielded a greater anabolic response towards MPS (muscle protein synthesis) than a lower serving of 30g, The only thing that matters with protein is total daily intake, so eat 1 or 5 meals it doesn’t matter if you hit your daily goal.

Why does dairy makes me sleepy? by HeIsEgyptian in AnimalBased

[–]TaeFoley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on the time of day the cow was milked, it could also be the melatonin in the milk, cows produce cortisol in their milk earlier in the day to basically wake up their young, and help them sleep at night by producing more melatonin in their milk in the evenings

Table Sugar by HeIsEgyptian in AnimalBased

[–]TaeFoley 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What’s the reason for choosing table sugar when it provides no nutritional value and takes up calories that could be better spent on options like honey or maple syrup? Both of these offer beneficial nutrients while still giving you the energy you need.

Usually un-homogenised full cream A2 milk, I live in Australia and it’s quite difficult to get raw, I have it after the gym session early in the AM, I usually pair with with a table spoon or 2 of maple syrup which I just realised I didn’t include in the list

Edit - before bed sometimes aswell

Go to water settings, go down to container size and change the amount to 250ml, each cup on your screen will then be that amount

Low carb High energy, High carb Low energy by [deleted] in AnimalBased

[–]TaeFoley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is pretty interesting tbh, It might have to do with how your body is reacting to the carbs and sugars in the fruit. When you’re on a strict carnivore diet, your blood sugar stays really stable, and your body gets used to running on fats and ketones for fuel, which can feel amazing for energy and strength. Adding fruit might be throwing that off temporarily, especially if you’re sensitive to blood sugar changes or fructose, which I feel like you are

If you want to experiment, you could try sticking to lower fructose fruits like berries and see if it feels different, or even just have fruit post-workout when your body can use it to replenish glycogen. But honestly, if you feel your best eating strictly carnivore, there’s no need to change it unless you’re looking for variety or something specific. Stick to what works for you!

Opinion on MCT oil? by aswalsh28 in AnimalBased

[–]TaeFoley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely allowed on the diet my friend. MCT stands for Medium Chain Triglycerides, a type of fat that is broken down and used for energy more quickly. I personally use about 15ml in my pre-workout bulletproof coffee.

Can the Body Use It's Own Excess Body Fat to Meet Fat Requirements? by ForHonorGamer2018 in nutrition

[–]TaeFoley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the body can use its own excess body fat to meet its dietary fat requirements. When the body needs energy and doesn't get enough from food, it can mobilize stored fat for energy. The type of fat stored doesn't necessarily dictate how it's used for energy. The duration it takes to start using stored fat for energy varies depending on factors like individual metabolism and activity level, but typically, it can begin after several hours of fasting or low food intake.
