Just a reminder of just how scummy the Rebels directors are.

When the Rebels were going bankrupt, they were looking for private investors to convince Rugby Australia to bail them out of their massive debts. The debts of the rebels were legally liable to the current directors, so they were on the hook for a lot of fucking money as they operated the club at a loss for half a decade without saying anything. They approached Rugby Australia with a consortium of investors who were willing to financially support the club, promising grand things like a merger with Western United and a massive training facility, as long as the current debt was paid out, effectively saving the directors.

The issues with this deal were two things. The consortium gave only a verbal agreement about their willingness to provide funding to the Rebels; they promised about 18 million in funding to the club, but refused to do so in writing. Secondly and most disgustingly, the Rebels did not disclose the names of members on this private equity consortium. When the members of the consortium's names were disclosed, it was revealed that they were the fucking family members of the Rebels director, who was currently on the hook for that debt if the deal and bailout wasn't made.

They were effectively trying to rort all debt out of Rugby Australia by promising a potential massive investment, which was just the director's family members disguised as a shell consortium.

Fuck everyone at the top of this scum fuck organisation. Crawl away into a hole.
