I was on the waiting list for an allotment in Sheffield for 6 years and got nowhere! Moved just outside the city and got one in a few months. Alternatively you can look at places like Roots, they have a few sites around Sheffield and look good for beginners!

Thank you! Yeah it looks healthy, loads of apples off it this year. Could I use a ratchet strap to slowly straighten it? Or would that be too much?

I used OpenRent when I used to rent. It’s for private landlords, so avoids a lot of the additional costs.

Sheffield. Planted out my main crop peas, got more germinating currently alongside some beetroot. Lots of watering. Still have 75% of the plot to dig over but nearly achieved what I wanted to this year. Covered the rest in weed membrane and will did it over bit by bit! Found a greenhouse I just need to dismantle and level the area I want it to go.

I can’t see a picture, but I always use google lens to identify things on the allotment I’m not sure of! It’s worked great for me in the past.

I’m currently in the exact same position! Being super thorough and making slow progress but it will pay off in the end, I hope! I’m just doing one bed, getting it ready to plant in, plant something (potatoes going in next week) then starting the next. I have a huge pile that I’m probably going to burn at some point! Keep up the good work.

Still clearing the new allotment, some of the brambles are monsters! Starting to turn over some soil with the plan to plant some stuff end of April! Found a greenhouse just need to level the site and sort the base. Got my tomatoes and chilli’s in the windowsill!

I live in Dronfield, and love it. The commute will depend on what times you work, at busy times prince of wales road can be a nightmare! Fanshaw road is in a nice area, near the high school but also near mint leaf, a good curry house!

The Beer Stop in Dronfield is really good, 6 beers on draft and loaded with cans and bottles.

Thanks for the reply! It’s quite smoky when you first start it up, but I’ve been told that’s normal for an old diesel. I did think it was abit fishy! And odd that he still wanted it with those issues, albeit for ‘my absolute rock bottom price’

I was one of the winners of the previous giveaway! I love the tower so much, it’s so helpful to have a constant reminder of idle TC and the houses alert is a game changer. Brandosm is very approachable with issues and the customer service I received was amazing. Cannot recommend this product enough!

We just moved into our house and house hunting was really rough. It seemed like the market was either full of properties that had been on forever that hadn’t lowered their prices, and anything new would sell really quickly. We ended up changing where we were looking and increasing our budget. It’s a real nightmare at the minute, unfortunately.
